  1. I asked Bill about the 1812 Overture, he said the horn's was a Beatle's Penny Lane sound that they were trying to mimic. He played base on the track but never signed a contract with Prophonics, they got him to come over from Chicago for a live gig but got another base player to fill in. His mate Christopher Edwards also in another band he was with played the guitar and the rest of the group Larry Johnson on drums, Al Shane on Keyboards plus the 2 girls were session musicians.
  2. Many thanks in advance if you can help out.
  3. Just wondering, is there a market for these reissued Soul City tracks when they have been booted and reissues many times before and you can get most of these records on CD's and at least two of them on Kent records " from the list above? Quality wise it has made me go out and find an original after getting an average press, ok the original is pressed of centre but there is no need to reissue it that way. Ho many records would you expect to sell?
  4. Got a mint issue for sale Russ. End Of Our Love.
  5. A guy called Big66Soul put one up for sale on ebay @ 2k for a Buy It Now about a year ago.
  6. It sounds like the record was off centre when they recorded it from the single, makes me feel a bit sea sick all that twoing and frowing unless its a pressing fault.. A shame cause it so rare and great both sides. I will wait until it comes out on Kent and be reassured of the quality or just go to clubs where the records are being played.
  7. Thanks Mike, interseting read and a good little sound clip of that O Yeah Yeah Yeah Joe Pirolli record from that it sound better than I remebered. Didnt see that first time I searched.

  16. I got a copy of the Bobby Taylor LP with Don't Be Afraid US issue, had it on a mowtown CD but I think the digital lacks the subtelties of vinyl. My mate got a strange record by Dawn & The Twilights on Fine Arts and I must say I like both sides, I am hoping he won't like it and sell it me. I will put a sound clip up to see what others think.
  17. Dynells came out twice on the Atco label and has 2 good side @ a nice price £100 - £200
  18. Yes it was uncovered whilst RS was playing it 1980. I did think that the boots came out after the Casino closed but not sure. So to get a record in the charts how many copies did you have to sell in 1967.
  19. I'll swap a Gene for a Dynells.
  20. Well found Simon great stuff a lot of it goes over my head, the other band names etc. The Bill's Melody is by Bill Latchaw.
  21. I have heard this but how with a Black singer, I still think The Group Featuring is Cecil and his brothers. I will put another sound clip up and you should see that he was working on the music.
  22. And they were pressed on a Friday- Lucky.
  23. A NYE special play we hope.
