  1. It was I who thinks the start of the Soul Notes was taken and was used on the Four Venerable's and the Donna Williams AKA The Sweets a tailor made or mixed track, seems anything is possible now adays on a PC scary.
  2. Hear we go, my girl friend says Oh! he is a bit of a hunk isn't he. So a modern tune and sex symbol its bound to be a flop.
  3. The beginning is the same for me Dave, I think that's the problem now adays a record is scanned or sampled like that Cindy Gibson and you can relate to it as a Northern known track.
  4. IMO probably the best song from the UTube files so far and I have listened to them all, a nice take on The Sweets. The How Long Will It Last Way Out reminds me too much of The Four Vandels so is this the way ahead for Northern Soul, remixes of old records and a conveyer belt of factory made tracks to dance to I wonder. Well there was another track that was ok as well but would these do better in the charts. when were they recorded, recently.
  5. Some people think if it says Northern Soul they can peddle any old shiut off.
  6. But then you can throw Mr M's into the equation that played Mecca, Torch, Wheel and Casino tunes back to back so for a night out at the time M's. I think the answer is every club has had a hand to play in what we have today and what we will listen to tomorrow.
  7. The quality of the records when 12 inch came a long drove a lot of people off the Northern scene in favour of the better sound. Its a tuff one you have your Mecca classic backbone tunes then Wigan's newie's and more hours for records to be played at the casino.
  8. $7200 not sure what that is in £ err cheaper than a Maggie Little.
  9. I spoke to him last night about the smelling of Nothern Soul he says Hey! I have 140 people watching the record the most ever. I guessed at 6500 but 7200 is even better.
  10. Gamblers has something always sounds a bit muddy or its on a stereo acetate, not a criticism could be there is more information on the disc that gets lost in the transcription from the decks. What about that record on Hull err Not Down By The Water Hole, a Dave Flynn record from The Dome, Hey Now Baby Humm, bugger I had a copy as well. Got it Leo Price.
  11. Yes Gareth's New Order
  12. Sure he spun it at The Dome. Well that's the first time for me I recall
  13. The Kent or 100 club Ady rarity you don't realise how good they are till you get a copy and you can take it all in, the words the mix. You can down a pint faster than it takes to play a tune and remember less.
  14. Gamblers is still so very rare it sure hasn't had the plays it deserves. Joe is 1970 are you saying Modern as in the date or modern as a new sound Mill Evans Ain't You Glad top 100 in my book but it should have been played more before coming out on single. Elipses no as yet I think James.
  15. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pygmy_elephant I have seen one of these.
  16. Soul Source Soul Source now where have do I know that name from Hummm.
  17. Back to The Mecca Who much was it to get in. DJ rota. What was the first record played What was the last record played How often was it on every week every month?

  21. Talking of Darts have you seen those new computerized boards no more calculations in your head, what new PC Pool.
  22. The Mar J,s on Magic Touch.
  23. My Little Bottage It could be on his wants list. Reminds me of the time getting ready for Wigan and a quick look in the mirror and Erruhhm dose my arse look fat in these Spencers.
