I am sure this could help, newer plastic records hold static or collect more static electricity than old vinyl or styrene. Tin foil is a good indicator of this, very light and sticks to any charge just a few inches square is ok.
I have an LP version just think its the longer single version but in stereo and not that other version but not the unissued version.
If that makes sense.
