  1. FT I don't dissagre with you I think it has taken more money than you estimate. Most of these vids are 10 years old they have been released as Swons the video, swons the DVD and now 200FF. So was Swons given away and has never taken a penny ever.
  2. Great but the back bone of this fish is 10 years old and its been remixed refreshed so what's new. Oh no I know what's new, I mean hey! what's new This is essentially a historical document recorded for posterity. If that's what you want, is it! or is it because every soulie should have it like a copy of the 3 before 8 or I am Coming Home In The Morning, should he?. Or was it that sales pitch no respecting solie can not miss out on owning again this (on the new DVD box set) fabulous item. I am happy to use them as a reference from Utube I don't collect DVD's I would rather go to the cinema. that's me
  3. Hummm If I had had such big success with Take That and Blue owned a recording studio and had rich parents and give the dead life I would I can assure you but I am too busy leading and running my life and why should I mimic IL I am not a copy cat its his idea not mine, its not something I want to do but if I did I would do it very well. Do you own any IL CD's I do and don't like them one bit. I bought them by err! familiarity I know the artist I know the song but when I get home, take off the wrapper and play the thing all the tracks have been remixed and re done and I don't like the sound, they all sound the same! sorry I ain't complaining about the filming, if that's what you (for the time the singer and the camera man together) get then thats it. All this was filmed 10 or 12 years ago for SWON except the 50 new tracks Four Vandals etc etc, The complaint is the music if you have a recording studio and the equipment then it's a job made a bit easier. I have seen 2 piece and 5 piece bands do a great job how much would that cost for a few musician to listen to a tape or record then record over a track for 200 records, a week 2 weeks and will that cost 80 thousand pounds I somehow doubt it in IMO.
  4. I have seen a couple of people back slapping over meeting Blah blah in blah blah when he sang blah blah for us blah blah, but if the artists are in concert then we all can back slap each other and blah blah, dose that make sense blah blah .
  5. A chance to re-live the moment by singing again cant be begrudged Don't think we begrudged any one FT we feel that these artists deserve more than what you would expect to hear on a Sunday night at The Conservative clubs summer bowls dinner and dance with Geoffrey and his Bontempo oneman bang organ. Ian can boasts of having no 1 with the likes of Blue, Take That, Exciters I am sure they sound better than some of the soul tracks do. We all want to give something back to these artist so I would rather pay to see them sing live, then I know they see my appreciation and I know they will get some money from it. As Ian says he know has an 80 K bill for remixing the tapes that he has personally remixed, Humm?? and will never make a profit on this project so the artist will ever see a bean for their input unless I am mistaken.
  6. Jonathan Capree I find this an odd record to be played at an R&B night, to me it sounds 70ts Gospel. I have seen it work in a few clubs but for me the tempo is all wrong for a Northern nighter. Bob and Fred I liked when I first heard it played then went off it but if I got a copy El cheapo I think I would love it, great sound on those drums.
  7. Hi again Tantip did you find any photos you wouldn't mind posting up of Lester. I you have any questions regarding records try this site https://www.popsike.com/ and if they are not here https://www.soulfulkindamusic.net/ this site is a good reference. The Lester and The Masqueraders is that a white label with hand writing on or printed paper label?
  8. Thanks Dave I have yet to hear them back to back.
  9. Have you paid him back or got the record back.
  10. these are not hands they are my ears you just have to know where to look. Head phones are good but if you can do it with the speakers in front of you cross them in towards or even outwards this forms a sound bubble, its easy to find differences hear.
  11. 130,000 or 130,0000000 views makes no difference, how many times do you refresh your page that counts as 1 and if you refresh every 5 mins then its bound to bump the score up. Ian, I took your Cafe Reggolouse up by 60 points just by refreshing my page, think it was around the 640 to 700 mark the time you went to Prestatyn
  12. Sorry James its the Bass drum and bass guitar that is extended seems to spread out from the voice leaving it open with a glow around it. You have the record??
  13. Take my word for it Dylan is a different Mix more like you would expect the acetate to sound than going through the pressing process.. An echoie glow around the voice missing on the record When you listen to that MP3 its of a poor quality compared again to the acetate that could of never been cut from that MP3. loneliness.mp3
  14. Has anyone got an opinion on the box set yet, Gogs was rating it the other day. How dose it compare to SWONS. What did you think of it. If you read this Simon don't answer it ignore me.
  15. Isn't there a scratch on one side, why do that to a new record even when the track is on both sides and it sounds a tad cleaner, fresher than the 45? is the voice a different mix further back in the mix with more echo and the bass is a bit extended.
  16. Hugg there are 2 copies or did I smell it wrong?? Du dee du du - du dee du du
  17. I think you mean Travesty and not trapestry unless I am wrong and you mean this Gogs.
  18. Yes Dave but the difference has not been defined, is it a longer Owhhhaaaaaa or is it a shorter Owhhaa.
  19. Hi Ian, Sam had a banner hung over the balcony at the casino before he was sacked relating to the choice of music being played. I remember Sharon Farrah telling me about the banner and T shirts wasn't that about him playing more chart music but wasn't that in his contract with the Mecca to play more commercial soul stuff. My brother use to go to Heaven, I remember saying to him IL is back Djing in London on the soul scene, he replied Ohh! F++kin Levine Nooooo, my brother never went to a soul club in his life and hated the music. I am still trying to form my opinion of Ian that has not been helped by his actions to the London clubs that gave him DJ's spots and residency's to get him back in the swing of things a few years ago and it all ended in a dreadful mess soul brother/sister hating soul brother/sister it really split the scene. As I said before Ian D I totally disagree with you and your remarks and to use them to set a record strait that bigotry exist on the soul scene even going back 33 years, a few immature remarks I can imagine when the average age was 17 or 18 but it has been nothing more than that. A few criticisms and every one who dose not agree with the way things should be starts to get called Fascist, Neo Nazi's, Troll's Bigots, FOAD I think was one of the worst things used on hear I didn't even know what it meant, all over a few mixes and video clips that from what I can gather Ian didn't even lay down or even shoot. I am sure if he had put his hands up and said ok its not perfect but we had to finish the project and get it in the shops for Christmas things would have been a lot cooler. I am still LOL at that little old lady reading the words to one of her songs, reminds me of my Mum quality, Simon you have to see it for what it is a sad but a very charming reminder of getting older. I have had a think about this and she is not as old as I first stated.
  20. However it wasn't always an easy ride. Levine has always attracted a large degree of controversy throughout his life. He was almost cursed for being the offspring of rich parents, being Jewish and, eventually, being gay - all three things being the diametric opposite of what was essentially a working class scene in the North of the UK. I think it's fair to say that Ian Levine was never a natural fit. To me this pretty much puts things in perspective. funny perspective I lived behind the synagogue in St Annes and my bin man was gay and a DJ get real its not the 1930ts but 1970ts I really can't see what this has to do with a DVD or are you saying to judge the box set we have to take his past, present, swings and roundabouts into account when its the artist and sound on trial hear. Rubbish . You want to get out a in Soho a bit more if you think this needs posting on hear.
  21. Pitbull's are better looking than troll's and bite harder, its all that sea air and nothing to do that makes em so mad.
  22. Could be the sound engineer needs the sack and a total in-house rethink. Tony_Scott.mp3
  23. They don't need a foetus to grow stem sells now they can do it another way. Tommy is fantastic but it leaves me wanting more from the band don't know what it is. Logic1.mp3
  24. I was talking about a person's right to choose an abortion or not, or indeed a couples' joint choice, not forced upon them by a state, behaving little better than fascists. I think you will find that they are trying to give the unborn more rights than the parents or the state. Must I endure an ongoing creeping barrage of trolls ???? That's nice if we are the Troll's dose that make you the Ogre
