The Bay of E is an advertisers dream, if a salesmen bums a choon up and somebody is daft enough to believe them, then tough. You really have to know what you are looking for and a little research will go a long way to help you find your elusive choon. I have spoken to run of the mill record dealers and this is there way of clearing old stock,"just stick northern title on to it" this way there is young blood who don't have the knowledge that buy a country and western choon on a known label. It is only good getting a bargain IF you know it's a bargain, not the place really to buy blind as it can be costly. It's a shame really because it degrades the scene and someone that doesn't know the Northern may d/load a sound and unbeknown to them, it probably hasn't seen any dancefloors never mind a Northern room. The feeling of being THAT close to wonderful sounds that never leave your memory. As other things pass and fade into a distant memory, a few bars of an obselete choon can send those shivers up your spine and give you relaxation and excitement together in possibly only a glorious 2 minutes. When all else has failed be it financial, relationship, employment, government, the list goes on. The elusive sound of soul travels with you and never disappears. To me, just to have that thing to hold on to, close to your heart, is what makes the whole northern/rare soul scene a part of my topsy turvy life. Hi Youyou, Ask around cos most collectors "upgrade" and get cleaner copies and rid of toons in lesser condition. Got plenty of stuff lying about myself but just too lazy to list it all. I keep saying to myself, "one of these days............" Haydn.

When the Casino was flooded from every direction with styles of sounds, I am sure some people may have turned their nose up at them, but only the ones that were "in the know". I know many a guy whose spirit was dampened upon reaching the Casino to find all sorts of "pap" played but this only fueled their desire to find the good sounds. With every bad (as in bad, not baaad!) sound there are another ten to be found that will prove their worth. Thus the adventure in finding something that has been missed or not even found.
