  1. Try using the search keys on site when looking for something ;)
  2. The 7" not due for release till end of this month, but the mp3 has been available to buy. The disgusting thing is that the proper release is cheaper than the boot.
  3. Not so much comedy, more of a disappointment. https://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=121292458322&fromMakeTrack=true&ssPageName=VIP:watchlink:top:en
  4. If I didnt know, it would have been a hard guess imo
  5. Chuck Jacksons Love Lights.....wtf happened there? Fades out and comes back in as if to say " Hey, we aint finished yet!". By that time, they've left the floor.
  6. How uncanny that the records I bought blind in the 80's were equally welcomed. I convinced myself that they were good because I had splashed out on them, thus convincing myself I had some great tunes in the box!
  7. It's really hard as a buyer to choose at record bars now. I would always buy at least something in the past, as a reminder also of the night. While trawling you are continually debating on items, you now have instant knowledge and availability, where as pre-internet.....if the record you were looking for was there, you bought it cos you aint seen or heard of another copy via mailers. And equally as hard for the dealers with prices for lesser knowns. I bought a record with a book price of £50, for £15 and saw three copies of the record at £30 in dealers boxes at a nighter. Not easy trying to earn a crust when folks looking for a bargain. In another time, I would have parted with £30 and had a memory in the shape of a 7".
  8. Had a couple of what would seem, ex-casino 7" that had been attacked with a hot needle in the run out. They must have still been out their "thrupenny bits" and thought it a good idea as they pulled them out their holdall at breakfast. Shaky letters and gouges to let folks know " this is mine", "Mowtown Dave rools", I certainly hope they haven't moved on to engraving or tattoos!
  9. Had me a few records out there in the 80's, was great for a dig to see what you could find. I returned last year and couldn't find a single thing to buy. Such a shame but all the goodies have gone! And Welsh Petes old place, still there, but gone are the racks of Schweppes/Beer crates that used to house piles of U.S. and British sevens
  10. Stompers? Ah'll keep playing this till I give the first punter a heart attack! Jackie Payne No Puppy Love, get oot yer seats!
  11. https://www.chapmanrecords.co.uk/shop/index.aspx?categoryId=58 1988....I stayed in London around that time. If I can recall, Twice I was to collect my membership at the door on the night, and twice Ady kept me at the door, cos they couldnt find it. 20 years old, a Scot in a foriegn land, jostled by the admitted crowd. Having doubt on whether I would get down those stairs to share the delight. Then Ady would arrive shaking his head proclaiming confusion, guiding me by the queue. Always had a soft spot fir the Scots did Horace ;)
  12. I seem to recall in late 80's that it was acceptable at some events to show any membership card at the door. This proved that you werent just an observer or pisshead. Still have a few that I always carried Soultown, Okeh, SoL, ACGB. These cards got me into events where I wasnt a member. Is that THE Pete Smiths 100 Club membership card that Sean Chapman was selling?
  13. I knew I recognised that Ryan Molloy....its Sweetchuck from Police Academy!
  14. I only found it as I clicked onto the Motown Burglars youtube :/
  15. Prince Philip Mitchell- One on one Bobby Womack- Tried and convicted Phyllis Hyman- You know how to love me Greg Perry- it takes heart These are oldies in my book, any dj should have the tools to turn it around if the dancefloor dwindles.
  16. In my opinion if you are doing the legwork searching for the music, you never will have a number one tune. Theres always something that crops up and moves the positioning, unless you are listening to that same old battered tape from years ago.
  17. Order order, Ladies and Gentlemen, Welcome back to The Wheeltappers and Shunters social club. Quiet at the back!
  18. I got the hardback when it first came out, it is informative to a degree. I don't think it was ever intended to be a bible. If you haven't read it, I would recommend at least once.
  19. Yep....and I had forgot that it was Owen Grays band :0)
  20. "Congrats. Stop. Have discovered only person in world less musical than you. Stop. Name - Baldrick. Stop. PS. Please, please, please - stop."
  21. They are all at it nowadays, it comes of no surprise that the money grabbers are securing a trademark for themselves. An initial outlay for any trademark will make it yours.
  22. The lead singer of "The Divine Comedy". Likes his sixties music apparently.
