  1. Try a bit of exhaust putty and you'll be fine. I usually trail a nit comb round it before its dry, for that authentic groove look. On playing, there may be a slight static sound, but hey, these records are 40+ years old. Happy Listening:thumbup: H:good:
  2. Damn those record dealers, always out of my reach:g:Honestly where do they pick these rarities up?
  3. Not got any ideas H, but i got the same problem myself. I been keeping them thinking i will use them but never get a chance to play them out. They are good for mixing and spinbacks in the house. Some of the lesser ones have gone to the boy to enhance his tricks on the decks, lol.
  4. Blasphemar, lol A great song but it looks terrible on that - imo. The Triumphs was getting plays in the north in mid 90's, am sure I saw it on a few playlists from then. It will crop up one day Redstripe, it's all part of the fun:thumbup: H
  5. I have heard a few folks looking for one, myself included. It does seem that folks that have one are holding on to it possibly. H
  6. Nice one Michael, well done:thumbup: H
  7. https://www.comedy.org.uk/guide/radio/rudys_rare_records/episodes/ Very interesting:ohmy:
  8. Georgie Fame covers it well:thumbsup: A good thread this, I'm anispeptic, frasmotic, even compunctuous to have caused you such pericombobulation. I hope you will not object if I also offer my most enthusiastic contrafibularities. (E. Blackadder)
  9. I watched this price rocket. He's a reputable seller so I am sure it was folk with bid-finger. 11 bids? crazy days:ohmy: Can't believe it sold for more than twice the price. Rather unusual, one sold in march for £20:yes: help:g: H
  10. Rumour is that this was used as a dub for the British release of Frank Wilson due to the limited original copies. Anybody confirm this? H
  11. Wilson Pickett, Isonics, Duke Browner all reported.......... Just looking at buyers feedback that have requested "private". They have been buying originals also. Looks as if they would rather buy up the boot for quickness to concentrate on buying lesser knowns originals that are still available and not in most dj's collections. imo I would try and out the ones that are funding them too, they are creating the market don't you think? H
  12. I beg your pardon? H
  13. Is that the before or after picture?
  14. I remember in the early days we all used to put a lot of records together so that the dj that was hired for the local youth club could play our favourite tunes. This was pre-collecting for me in those days and in order to get your records back to the rightful owner, yer moniker was written on the label and the corresponding cover. That could be one reason although I have had a few records where an adults writing is evident, now that is curious unless he/she were still going to youth clubs in later years:shades: H
  15. It's not a double post bud, there was motown ones on the go for the same price, Gladys Knight, Supremes. Prob about three years ago:D H
  16. I think these were discussed before, weren't they illegitimate? H
  17. I got there twice from Girvan, Ayrshire. I enjoyed both nights apart from remembering how cold it was Dave, lol I went with another guy from Girvan and Sparra from Newton Stewart. It was a great mix from what I remember. I recall some of the Modern I heard was totally new to my ears cos of me being deep into the 60's thing at the time. Folks were right to say it was in the middle of nowhere as it was tucked well out of the way, good memories of travelling from the west and getting lost both times:whistling: I am glad to have had the pleasure to have been there. Best, H
  18. It was defo the White Heather Hotel, Brilliant range of music. Anybody remember the dj list from then? H
  19. You just missed one that was for sale on here, came down in price twice as well, I was tempted but skint at the time, they are out there! H
  20. Has been played out at the Belmont in the past by myself, bought from a glass case in Oxfam for £9.99 in company bag. A British minter too! Result! Even the oldies crowd think it as a newie due to underplays H
  21. Nice to hear you got something Mike. It's a pity about the poachers turning up, I am sure it was a great treat thumbing through some of it though. H
  22. Anything between 20 and seen on lists for as much as 50, depends on where you pick it up. Cheap as chips from USA if you can find one. On the album This is hot as well which can be picked up for around $10. Northern classic or Disco dross? Each to there own I say H
  23. Hi Steve, Seems to be an East Coast (of Scotland) thing, there are a lot of copies up here but held on to by many because of good memories. I think I heard it first from Riddle, bought it and probably only played it out twice, seem to recall the Dumfries crowd enjoying it. But yes, don't see many for sale and it gets plays off the album too H
  24. That'll be the day- Pamela Stanley on EMI See Ian Anderson bud, he had one in his sales box, there might be a minter in company bag up for grabs at the nighter, not decided yet! H
