  1. Was just looking and seems everything on Planetary was either written and/or produced by David Gates.
  2. Found this review "Ain't That Love" by Dorothy Berry is a superior, uptempo Northern soul dance floor filler, driven by guitar, harmonica and powerful drumming, female backing vocals supporting Dorothy as she forcefully expresses her undying affection for her man. Cash Box reviewed the record favourably in its 5 December 1964 issue:- Dot's new R&B subsid is underway with an infectious dance-romp. Besides the effective warble by the lark, there's fine percussion-guitar-harmonica work and a femme chorus. Can show speedy chart results. Unfortunately, their prediction did not prove accurate, the record failing to chart.
  3. One of the other interesting facts about YBWO is it was written by David Gates who found fame with Bread in the 70s
  4. Thanks for the info Sebastian, just seem such weird markets to go for. Would have thought UK, France, Germany etc. would have been a better shot for the label to move more product for the same effort if you see what I mean.
  5. Never ceases to amaze me where some of these tracks got issued, not meaning it in a funny way but what sort of market would there have been for a South African or Danish release? Must have only been couple of hundred copies sold at the time if that?
  6. Thanks Sabastian but I have it on US copy already
  7. Yes Monarch press and delta 54716 which puts the date as right - like I said it was that copy on popsike made me doubt
  8. Thanks Chalky, I thought there wasn’t but was looking on popsike and there was a copy on there where it said it was a repro copy which prompted the question

  24. Yes, understand what you mean but the problem you have is trying to circumnavigate it getting taken down from Soundcloud etc. As soon as you post up the artist you get busted with a strike against you. At one point I had about 25 taken down just in one day that originally they let me post up over a number of months before hand. Soundcloud in particular got really strict. You’ll find nearly all the edits you come across on sites like Soundcloud are via people doing it just for fun and no money involved at all apart of course from the Joey Negro’s and Opolopo’s of the world. Some are awesome when you consider they are done by what you can term as just enthusiasts. Btw you don’t get paid by Soundcloud, hearthis.at etc. if you post up an edit. In fact it actually costs you if have a premium account on there. Also the companies pay nothing to the artists as in effect they don’t want re edits on there as they could end up liable. The way sort of around this is some allow you to post up under a Creative Commons licence which is basically you agreeing it’s not for profit. And as you’re not paying for the stream the host site also makes nothing so no royalties to share out.
