Really?.....
So a few dozen Kids (at most) are going to buy up all the big name tunes from all the hundreds (if not thousands) of DJ's and collectors currently on the scene, thus future proofing the value of all these tunes?...
They must have a fookin' big paper round then!.
What he Said ....
I don't think the vast majority of us in any way consider ourselves as Custodians of the music, or the scene for that matter. For the most part we've all just been along for the ride, and that ride is getting pretty close to the stop where we get off. Where it goes next is really out of our hands as we won't be doing the driving.
They may not have been underground then, but they are now, Still don't make 'em Cool for todays kids though. And remember Motown was very much 'Pop'ular music back in our day, yet it was the start for many of us.
There will always be a small minority in the future who will have an interest in the genre, but as said above the scene will be tiny compared to today.
My Grandparents were into the Big Bands sounds popular in the dance halls of the 40's. My parents were into the Rock & Roll music of the 50's. Both these Genres were Hugely more popular than NS, yet with the exception of the odd 'Theme' night and the usual Jive Bunny Mega mix at your Grannys 50'th wedding anniversary Do, they are pretty much forgotten.

It's interesting that you joke over this Ste (we do the same our side) yet I understand Halton has the highest cancer rates in Europe........ cant think why?.
Remember this being Huge at Station Rd, but it's never had that much turntable time since. Which is a shame given it could replace some of the overplayed crap that gets murdered every week today.
'Awesome'. Why when someone does the most basic simple task do people say 'That's Awesome'..
'High school'. Seem to remember it being 'Senior School' when was a kid.
'The gift that keeps on giving'. Another of those Americanisms that now make up more and more of our lingo.
Back in the day we'd travel endless miles to unknown places usually via public transport at silly o'clock at night in all weathers. Suffering all manner of abuse and hassle from not only the local pi55heads, but the local plod who thought we were the North-Wests answer to Pablo Escobar. Yet I loved every minute of it, as It was all part of the danger and thrill of the underground scene I was into while most of my mates were down the local pub trying to pull the barmaid over a pint of warm mild.
These days there are endless venues within a nice warm 5 minute car journey from me, yet I can't be arsed with any of them.
I travel a lot less these days as I don't do Niters anymore and most local type nights (with the odd exception) are little more than pensioners discos.
What a crap spot!. No Frank Wilson, or his Brother Al. No Muriel Gray, or her Brother Dobie. Everyone knows that can't be Station Rd.
Thanks for Posting Chalks.
