Nah still can't spot him lol
  2. Didn't do photo's in them days as you mostly on the run from someone or other be it the old bill or an ex and you could blend away with out name to face, that was the idea, you don't see many pictures of me back then or today
  3. Larry Lambretta revisiting my youth, I was MC that night using that name to introduce the bands on stage as well as DJ with Chris Holmes Yep I remember introducing the Killometers VIC Vespa, AKA VIC Vomit in another life. CO2, or Checkmates local York band average age must have been around 16 but they were tight and good band. The eldest brother of the lead singer of the Checkmates was on the Scene John Jones. I remember at the end of that night, it ended up with a fight and I had a box of records pinched. THE SCENE were managed by my mate, Rodjer Young who also promoted the night who ended making a loss after the damage caused but a great night
  4. One of my photo's which I am proud of but no where near Brian's quality Love Brian's photo's, The use of light and shadows brings a new dimension to this art form never scene before on this subject, it's a shame some of the grainy 70's photo's can't be edited to get the same feeling as Brian gets. Respect to you Brain and keep up the good work

To Av, family and friends, Please accept our sincere condolences on a very sad day. I have some fond memories of Pete especially when he DJ'ed at my Charity event in Tadcaster and gave us his history lesson in Ska music, and it was Pete that got me on to several good tune's Little Richard "Get Down Get with it" for one. Cheers mate you will be sadly missed by us. RIP Andy & Mel

  8. I think the last time I saw Dekka was at his brothers wedding, I remember his "Taffspeed" but I didn't realise it was 5 speed I suppose if it had worked it would have court on. With todays technology I am surprised it's not a common add on the Tigra twin 250cc Lambretta. The GP 200 The Dominator built by Reghams Motorcycles of York were renown for there tuned bikes of the 70's The Wildcat. My first scooter was a Supatune special TV 200 went to Wigan on that one and nipped a couple of times and I got lost God knows where in Bolton and ended up in scrap out side a chip shop and I got my sheep skin getting slashed by some moron, but I got my retribution. Another scooter in the picture is Mala Woodward's "NOWHERE TO RUN" taken from the film The Warriors I think sung by the Mandrills. The side panels had a mural of the Baseball Furies, very apt for Mala because he used to like to dress either like them or the gang out of the Clockwork Orange. How are you Paul still in York we will have to get together for a pint or two mate Regards
  9. York Scooter Club invasion of Germany. My Lambretta SX200 S type with every thing but the kitchen sink on it. You take the wife she takes everything
  10. Harry, That'll be about the time of photo 77/78 Billy Whizz great character, on scooter runs with the BT's York's other Scooter Club and at niters. Nige and Janet I think were married, please forgive me I am wrong. Toms Petch's scooters or Projects were something else I would of been proud to of owned one You put a smile on my face when you mention Dave Horseman along with Spuggy and myself were at Brighton and some Southern West Ham MOD types took offense to my teeshirt "I'd rather push a Lambretta than ride a Vespa" anyway an argument started and Spuggy took a full helmet strait in the face form one of the youths and he didn't flinch then the whole area erupted into a York Vs South. It wasn't always like it, but it was not pretty when it did happen
  11. Harry I hope you are keeping well I can see Tom Petch, Frank LLoyd, Andy Thorpe, Danny Small now lives in Swindon, John Bell, Rich Heilds RIP, Carl Vanderpeer, Mr Mole. I can see them but remembering there names. Great times like you say no B&B just doss bags, breaking into barns to doss in, dutch police trying to arrest you for vagrancy, climbing out of a secure yard at Scarborough police station by forming a human pyramid after being arrested. I was not all ways that lucky £1000 fine in Great Yarmouth, that was a lot of money back then in 83, in a special court held on a Sunday just got released in time to see Edwin Starr
  12. Nice one Bri! you put us all to shame
  13. Hortense Ellis what a voice if only Tamla Motown had found her along with her brother Alton. They have done some great version of Tamla tunes with the Jamaican beat as you will probably know. Nice one Andy
  14. I found this foto the other day with some old membership cards, caused quite a stir on facebook and a few grins. My first car Morris 1000 called Mavis, We were going to Carlile for a nighter and then on to Manchester on Saturday Wigan on Saturday night, but them Jeans they were tailor made by Seymore of York, Denim bought from York Market. I would be 18 back in 1977, I never had trouble getting into venues till I was 18 Can't upload foto
  15. There is always reasons why people don't like there images taken, They could be off work with sickness, and a chance there employers could see the image. They are claiming from the Department for Works And Pension and dancing away could put there claim at risk, or there pupils could be the wrong size no what I mean

  21. Great to meet some very knowledgeable people I loved Geoff B's & Ted M spots Sorry i missed your spot Andy B but you know me and curry, here are the details you wanted I hope they are correct, if not I am sure someone will correct me Carrie Cleveland ”Make love to me” BC1510-A/ “I Need Love” BC1510-B Audio–Ent Promo copy. 1977 Wrote & produced by Bill Cleveland, her husband a radio DJ I bought my copy about 5 years ago £400 discounted rate 100 demos produced 2 known copies of, mine and one owned by Paul Sadot but I believe he has sold his on. If you find an issue copy, it is completely different to what I played, the reason Carrie didn’t like the Demo and the issue sound like she brought Rolf Harris and his hand held organ (sounds rude) to do the backing. Nice vocals but sub-rate backing tune in my opinion but still sells for around the £4-500 mark so be careful unless you like it She also recorded an LP version but this cannot be played out, unless you are Sean Chapman, as it is a Reggie tune I am pleased YOU LIKED THIS TUNE!
