Ian, another two here wishing you all the best. Don't think you'll remember us but you might remember buying Deep Blue Train on UK Verve from me at Sale Mecca '73- '74 ish . Rich and Gill Hillel. PS Our mutual friend Tony Davidson (not on SS) also wishes you the best for a speedy recovery.
Put record between 2 thin, inflexible surfaces (safety glass would do), into a trouser press and then use clamps to get a really tight fit. switch on, leave 12 hours, intermittingly switching on.
Ray, Clive's brother has asked us to post up a big thank you to the many of you who attended Clive's funeral today. He was overwhelmed by the massive turnout and support. So many lovely tributes to a guy who obviously commanded the greatest respect.
Richard and Gill
I have a copy on UK Spark. I bought it along with Jimmy Thomas when they were first issued. I have'nt seen it or played it for years and it will take some digging out. I guess it will be in EX condition. Never thought about selling it but maybe I would for the right price.
Over to you
RICH
You've only got a Stateside issue! Surely you should have a Laurie original. I unfortunately have'nt got either but would be prepared to do you a favour , to buy the old Stateside copy off you and pay enough for you to buy the orig. How does that sound?
I've got this. For some unknown reason I bought it along with the Mighty Dodos release when it first came out (maybe it was the girl in the record shop!). Always thought it was shit. Still do.
The man is a great writer ( add Grover Mitchell's "What Hurts" to the list). He is also a great SOUL singer. He's a natural and his adlibbing fadeouts are the greatest.
