just ask woody about sleepless nights in Dublin.... everyone was in stitches. as I was lying on floor by his feet. and he was trying to step over me to put his records on.... I blame the the Irish

.........The stuff that riles me the most is the ' the floor was packed all night, place was heaving, another packed night' when in reality there was a handful of punters and no one danced. I understand that a promoter needs to push their venue as they need to make it pay for them to pay the DJs and the Hire for the Room but at what cost. A simple 'had a great night etc' would suffice with no need to mention numbers or the business on the floor but to tell an untruth is morally not right.......... agreed, however some things are borne out of sheer desperation, perhaps they may feel if they dont say these things, no one will come which goes back to my earlier post! The best thing in my humble opinion , is to therefor if you have the gut,s , and you enjoyed it, to say. look it was not packed out at all, but give it a go ect. there will always be blatant blagging, its the name of the game, and it annoys me as-well, but I am sure most people like me, know, we just know dont we !

I personally think that most feed back is sometime,s pumped up, the best thing to do, is make your own informed choice, by DJ line up, music policy, however, what,s one person,s gold, is another,s coal, we all have different idea,s and tastes, and expectations , I have none except about what is to be played, thats my only concern , I do oldies across the board , and rare soul. where ever I chose to go, I always have a good idea what to expect. There has been times when I have been somewhere in the past, and been bored shitless, looked at the lookback,s and thought, I must have been somewhere different but, just because I have not thought much of it, does not mean to say everybody else felt the same, perhaps sometimes, my expectations have been to high, but generally i know what I am gonna get, where ever i choose to go. So my rule is always, not to put feed back for somewhere if I have not enjoyed it, rather than be untruthful . Most problems arise because if its not packed with loads of people , people wont go, whatever,s played, and that in my opinion is detrimental to venue, and a shame , instead of having patience and faith , to help it build up , they don't bother , or scrub it off, and even far worse, say to other,s ..don't bother going there, they dont get no one in, if I had a pound for every time I heard that phrase, I would be able to buy count the days! .I have heard the most fantastic music in the most worst venue,s . but some people want a great venue, the best dancefloor, packed out,posh loo,s ect, they want it on a plate, well let me tell you, you cant have it all your way, all the time,have a bit more faith, tell the truth in a constructive way, is far better than slagging some where off , I do always say what,s on my mind weather people like it or not, I,m not out to win friends and influence people , or be in anyone,s camp, I,m hear to enjoy something that's, been a massive part of my life for the last 35 years

I got to be honest, and most collectors ect, hopefully are as mad as we are, but we have been known to ..kiss , yes sad gits that we are, kiss our vinyl , and cherish it, its takes a lot of hard work, funds, going with out stuff, to buy these days , I did sell some good stuff a couple of years ago, to buy a car, and I,m still pining now for one particular record but me and woody over the years have sold 2 collections , one to keep a roof over our heads, one when the kids was small and he was out of work, he still even now, regrets selling George Blackwell , amongst other,s ,and that was 25 years ago, but thems the cards we was dealt, but thinking back, can honestly say, I wished we had kept them at the time , but at the same time, if this makes sense, some we can live with out, it was a desperate situation , which I am sure a lot of people can Identify with, it,s easy if money is no object ect, to get what you want , buy what you want, but some of the sacrifices we have made and still make, to purchase records, it,s hard. So you have to work harder at it, dig deeper , don't follow record,s like sheep , to buy the top ten in demand current spins, for eg; Give Woody a sales list let,s say with 500 listed , he will go through it, in alphabetical order , how ever long it take,s. now that take,s dedication, and its that dedication and hard work, that, make,s letting go of something even harder, for an example, I made him tidy up his records, as there was about , well a few shall we say, just in box,s. The idea is to sell some , that he can let go, to help fund new stuff, he,s the hardest person in the world, to get to bring a sales box, in fact he,s taken loads back out of a 300 box, and put them back However , as for The Hy-tones, whether you like it or hate it, that goes with him, when he goes, and that,s a fact , it,s been discussed, and I for one, if I out live him, would adhere to this request, but you never know, he might change his mind now he, s a granddad , so all in all , yes, we find it extremely difficult

most people buy them back at a later date if possible ....but its very hard to see them go, there not records there our babies !

woody does my shopping I trained him very well you know, and I always rub his back, atleast he knows his way home most of the time anyways its bad enough I get side tracked by ebay when on soul source, so if it shoes I got no chance! but its the way forward aint it !

Well hello Dirk and welcome , you are amongst friends here and if anyone wants to know what really went on its repeated on Sunday, listen at yr own peril, theres quite a few regulars who listen in EVERY tuesday, speak up we wont bite.. carol and dithers are there every Tuesday with out fail, glad there on , but watch out for that chair! mmm now where was the others see some of you sat at ruggers

you have no idea what its like being in the car with woody, let alone in the studio.we had a list of b&b,s to look at, but no, we had to drive round Banbury for at least an hour, looking for somewhere to stay, and that was after we had taken the wrong turning! I thought I,m sure we have been down this road at least 6 times before by the time we hit the pub I was knackered and got the toothache,but I have to say the four poster gave me the best nites sleep I have had for a long time, all that aside. you think I,m joking about that chair ..I dare anyone to sit on it, it goes right back, I thought i was gonna go bottom over bosom at one point! I thoroughly enjoyed it, even with the toothache , had not got a clue what I was gonna play, but I hope you enjoyed the show, as mellytime says, face of an angel, but a a mouth of pure innocence, thats me, One thing, which is very important, Nick Topsey Turvey aint got to have guests on, but he does, so a big thankyou, for letting us loose in yr studio, and a big thankyou for the banbury lads for their company and melly, we just love you, you tart, you must stop learning me bad habbits!
