  1. And having been to one I must say a great weekend in a great city and a very warm welcome..Always recommended..
  2. Then perhaps he would be better to be more specific..
  3. Sometimes people go to an event because friends and some likeminded people maybe there, and because it's on the coast does'nt mean there's no culture and someone likes a beer when they are away i thought was pretty acceptable. Sometimes people don't take themselves too seriously and can enjoy good soul music for what it is. Best not go to Cleggy next year if the weathers good, there's sand there somewhere..
  4. I'm afraid I must disagree with you there. The last 3 I have been to have been a great weekend with people wanting to hear good music in a relaxing and warm surround. I heard there was a bunch of people down the road running an oldies event, but to be fair have not had any real contact with them. I do not want to go to a "Brits on the piss" as you call it event and Rimini has not been that on my experience. I think your point is ill thought out and based on no real evidence.
  5. Yes, Butch played this at White Swan Nighter at mansfield one night..
  6. Check out the pre-cleggy reductions..
  7. "you better wake up" was originally played by Dean Anderson may moons ago if memory serves.
  8. Came from the Bowie estate and was told that they did all tunes in one take to let someone else in the studio..Different, but as I say the "Pretty Baby" is ok.
  9. Don't know the source Darren. There's another John Bowie acetate "Help me pretty baby", very uptempo, not great though. Also a different demo of the above track, off acetate, much better. Here's the full blurb... I have a 10 or 12" acetate (can't remember the size) with this on and the "Good Thing" Version, also a track called "Bad Luck" which is ok. The first take on the CD I have which I think is better than the 2nd take. The 2nd take sounds a bit contrived almost like some instrumentation has been added as an after thought...
  10. Aways open to reasonable offers so don't be shy..

  15. Yes Tom, I think I still have a bruise from that journey..
  16. I'm afraid Mr Byrne you did have a somewhat rustic looking jacket and soup strainer around that era to which i have the pics..
  17. I had this covered up (can't remember as who) early Shotts nighters and had it a while then. Gary had it a time after me and that copy may have came from a copy via me as i picked one up on a US trip..Don't know if that helps but Pat Brady never played it I do know that.
  18. It was the vinyl copy found in a box of allsorts by Dave Taylor From Nottingham. Rob covered it up and then later sold it to guy who i believe changed the cover up name..
  19. Quite a few things came out of Robs over the years. The original Rodd Keith that Guy played came out of there and he always had some gems under the counter..Strangley my mate found the label for Gaylettes "Heartaches" but never found the record
  20. Chalky my friend. Guy was the king of C/U names..Calling the Masquaders on Soultown the "Albanians" Brilliant. I'm gonna steal that one
  21. I believe that the saturday upstairs room has been kindly handed over by the Tefster for Natalie Steele's 50th Birthday celebrations..I believe a DJ line up is being mapped out as we speak..
  22. Weird thing here is I have had the Redd Coach 45 2-3 times so not sure if i have my first (might have sold it to Cliff Steele many moons ago) and played the Funny Feelin side a few times in the car and as soon as i heard the Dart one on here it was the same track i used to or still have somewhere..mmm..bit wierd that
