  1. Has anyone seen one? Not 100% trusting Discogs, I thought I’d do a little more research and found this Italian Stateside discography, which has it on……interestingly they seemed to use the same/similar picture sleeve for a number of artists: 45catStateside (Italy)Discography of 7" vinyl records on the Stateside (Italy) label on 45cat.
  2. Wow……you learn something new everyday! Just found the picture sleeve Italian release on the Discogs page……nice!
  3. I thought the Canadian 'Apex' release was the toughest to find and its the least of all versions I've seen for sale over the years.
  4. Nice.......about the right price for the record to...............its usually £150 tops.
  5. There's a few on Discogs, none in the UK though........some nice looking French EP's with it on too..............worth a look: https://www.discogs.com/artist/2595859-Barry-Barefoot-Beefus
  6. Yeah, pretty well known oldie isn’t it? Also a version by Garland Green on Revue
  7. I'm unsure of current demand but for me it could be above that figure, maybe up to £1K.
  8. Quite an early record, from about 1961, and only ever seen demo/promo copies. Has always been quite a tough record to track down. I think Des Parker was the first person I heard play it out, and I managed to pick up a copy from the internet not long after, probably just before it become popular on the R&B and Mod scene…..that must have been 15 years ago or maybe more? There were a ‘smallish’ number of people I heard play it before it started getting plays on the Northern scene……great record in my opinion…..never thought of it as a Northern sounding record though, so not sure if more copies turned up, but I guess they might of?
  9. Flip of Cool Jerk US 45:
  10. That does look great!
  11. I've had a Susan Rewis - They Say on red Columbia issue.......I've never really seen many of them only the odd few (maybe?), most seem to be white demo's. This was my copy but ended up selling it a number of years ago 😃
  12. Agree mate.....sounds completely made up with the vocal being a tweak of Tony's.
  13. Agree, doesn’t look right……the description states it’s an ‘acetate’, then at the end states ‘heavy weight vinyl’……from the pictures it doesn’t look like a metal coated acetate…..probably just a carver. The different hand writing and pen types for ‘Final Mix’ against the other writing doesn’t look right. Looks like a photoshopped acetate label with text removed and then ‘Otis’ credits added by hand later with a felt tip pen.
  14. Agree........there's a number for sale on the internet......even one for £150 (which seems quite high to me but maybe I'm out of touch with current values) from a real reputable long time UK dealer. Maybe bidders don't look beyond the auction site?
  15. Am I missing something on the Dorothy Williams and Bobby Marchan……I’d never of considered them as auction items….. and thought they were no more than £75 each?
  16. Heard this on Radio 2 the other week and quite like it, not heard of her before…….it also led me to check out her back catalogue and there are some other good songs she’s recorded in my view - ‘Shaken by the wind’, ‘Talkin bout heartaches’ and ‘The last time’ are a few worth listening to……there are others as well.

He did a similar sale a number of years ago……but I can’t remember exactly when……could have been 15, 20 or 25 years ago, as I remember buying a decent size bundle of records and feeling quite pleased with how much I’d saved. So, he has definitely done it before.
  18. The ‘assumed’ song title you mention "one room country shack", sounds like some of the lyrics at the start of this track by Ronnie Milsap……could it be this?
  19. The Lucozade 'Mods' advert was actually 25 years ago!!! Made in 1998.
  20. Barbara Dane and Jimmy Ruffin look a bit hefty on the price tag to me……I’d have thought £150 each…..tops………or am I way out of date these days?
  21. Joe Arnold - £435????? Bit steep........thought this used to be about £150 tops.........then seemed to drop in price........seen as low as £60. There is also a cheaper one on Discogs for sale......the bidder could have paid £83 less......even though that price is way over the top to me! More madness???
  22. That doesn't look real to me, I'd be very, very surprised if the above label really existed.............it looks like the words 'ACETATE', 'WITCHCRAFT' and 'THE TEMPTATIONS' have been added to a label scan using photoshop (or similar software). Very easy to acheive with photoshop on a 'worn' scanned Gordy label of that era. All the Motown and related acetates I've owned or ever seen have been like Wiggyflat's label in his scan/video.............plain(ish) paper or 'proper' studio acetate label with typewriter 'type' text. Any other ideas anyone?
  23. If I remember right......I bought one when the stock was found............think it was about £50 to £60............I'm sure I've seen it as low at £30 at one point.........really surprised its jumped up to the prices noted above............sold mine a long while ago now and struggled to get my money back on it!
  24. Agree, the ones I've had played perfect too.
