  1. Hi Steve..well i do like to dance ..and with a well known tune ,you get to know the little pauses drum rolls quirky bits...makes it more comfortable to Dance to IMHO.I think many peeps that do much dancing would say the same.... as for hits on the thread...yes quit a few..and to think they closed my first thread on this topic whithin the first 5 mins Bazza
  2. I was at a doo saturday in mansfield ..the attic ( black bull )..didnt know a single tune..all new to me ..i still loved it So now it sounds like you'r saying your a lower class type of soulie if you like the classics utter flippin Rubbish Bazza
  3. Hi all ,I was at whitby..my personal take on this is ,KR has not got a leg to stand on,friday night in my opinion was allready well over capacity and do you really think 300 or so people would turn up for the weekend without tickets and just hope to get in, suppose I was lucky, I went in the pavilion at about 9:15 there abouts on the saturday night ,many of my mates were stood out side ,infact a friend of mine was in the doo and his wife was stood out side, they would not let him out or his wife in..disgusting fiasco Bazza
  4. Sorry you've lost me...I dont get your drift Bazza

  10. I dont think so ...to the people that no whats what....the original would never lose its sparkle in fact it may enhance the shine , because more people actually here it and not just the peeps that do the allnighters Bazza
  11. I must agree Baz..local doo, not trying to prove owt just give the punters tunes they want to here every body is happy ....( i think ..lol ) everybody goes home feeling chuffed Regards...Bazza
  12. HI Dave would love to come...but goin to KR's do at matlock saturday..trying to cut down a bit ,costin me a fortune, keep me informed where your doin your spots tho' be worth the travel just to here it played at a venue Regards..Bazza
  13. I see what your saying and I do travel all over the place but I want to support my local'ish venues.not just fill the pockets of "you know who" and any new blood that comes to smallish venues will never here the great tunes Regards..Bazza
  14. Try again with this one..51 years old been around a bit.I admit to being a bit "old school" I love the northern classics, my alltime fave is " Magnetics-I Have A Girl " I have been Back on the scene about 5 year, in that time i have only heard this tune played 2 or 3 times, now we all know owning that bit of 39 year old vinyl would be fantastic.no argument I would have a big stupid grin on my face if local'ish DJ's played it,but ofcourse they dont reasons are as you lot know 1 its very rare and expensive on the original label "Ra Sel - £2000" 2 If they had it, would they play it in a working mens club with the floor heaving, even with cusioned decks, I remember once when a member of the bar staff leaned accross to the DJ, cought the pickup arm on his shirt sleave ,orrible noise you get the idea..I would not dare play one of my treasured tunes and would not really expect you too So is this a reason to allow CD's or reissues at venues I think it is I am not trying to start a slanging match about vinyl V CD...I love the music and just want to here these rare great old tunes if it came down to original vinyl and never here the tunes or reissue or cd and hear the tunes, I want to here the tunes Regards..Bazza
  15. Sounds like gary belchers play list lol..only decent one among em is Harold melvin-prayin..Just my opinion of course Regards...Bazza
  16. Hi I recone I must know you or at least have seen you about..I am a regular visitor to forest town , and I know Carl went to The Whitby fiasco..wont go again KR has got his matlock Doo this weekend...still not sure what to do .mates wanna go hopefully it wont bother annersley to much, its a great venue in my opinion Regards..Bazza
  17. Latin Soul ..love it ,here is a couple to look out for ,well three Lebron brothers-Funky blues hector revera-do it to me bobby valentine- use it before you lose it Regards..Bazza
  18. I am sure this topic must have been discussed before, but why do many soulies and most DJ's insist on original vinyl only tunes not even reissues I for one could not give a hoot what the media is. I am 51 and been to most of the old places ( originaly from noyttingham) still out every weekend at one venue or another my point is I want to here the great tunes..problem is they cost far to much money tunes such as Narbay-belive it or not magnetics- I have a girl dellarks-job opening classics- so glad that I found you the list is endless..but you get the idea So if the DJ does not already have these tunes, and pobably had them for 30 years ...he will never have them that means I will never hear them played at local'ish Venues why should I and the rest of the punters have to go without hearing them because of ths snobery if the Cd is "legit" then the artist gets royalties....no problem and I get to here all the great tunes... Regards...Bazza
  19. But the B side is great " heart your made of stone" Regards ..Bazza
  20. Dont get me wrong , I have the utmost respect for Sam. infact at the last skeggy weekender he without doubt did the best 2 or 3 spots of the weekend, but the modern stuff he plays does not go down well in the north midlands clubs..long long long may he carry on ..........BUT not in the north midlands Regards....Bazza
  21. I must agree...infact ,keep him and Gary Belcher..."Darn sarf" cos they are not wanted in the north midlands Regards...Bazza
  22. Soul Sam...Can be great...but I have seen him clear far more floors than he fills..Ok for you modern boys Regards...Bazza
