  1. Nice record. Not an easy one. Hope you find one. Peter
  2. Cheers Steve Best of my all niter times. I always enjoyed your sets - some nice modern with some good 60's picks too. Funnily enough I bought a Willie Darrington last year - great record and yes I do recall you plating it. Peter Peter
  3. Cheers Steve So, put me out of my misery - what was your biggest record at the time - or as Simon said, your signature tune. Hope your well by the way. P
  4. Hi Suz Lovely pictures. i hope you are well and life is smiling on you. P x
  5. You set one of those questions that just goes round and round in your head - pretty sure it was BGL for Sean - and I know that Steve had a stand out record but can't remember! Sean/Steve?
  6. Nice podcast Simon but I'm not certain that it answers the question you posed? P
  7. The Gables Country Club! We had some big punch ups in there Swifty! One night everyone joined forces and it was Away United versus the Skeggy lot. I think our mutual friend Kev might have had a hand in kicking that one off. Edit - mm, I ought to add that this wasn't a northern do - it was a disco
  8. I thought it was the Towanda Barnes version mate - but wasn't sure that she'd been a vocalist with the Players.
  9. Whose on lead vocals on this version? Totally forgotten. P
  10. Some of those were always a bit pricy and not easily available to all and sundry mate.
  11. Thanks Eddie. Yep you had to be quick! I remember being on the phone to John at Soul Bowl quite a bit after scouring his typed up sales lists! . i was never a huge buyer and didn't buy expensive stuff but John was always a great person to deal with. Friendly, polite and helpful. Peter
  12. Was Janice - Skip Mahoney and easy one when it first got played. Absolutely massive record back in the day and still love it to bits - awesome dance track. Peter
  13. Love it. Dickie's old Top Cat cover up.
  14. Hi Simon That's a tricky one! Maybe Brothers Guiding Light for Sean (he'll soon correct me) and Steve - I want to say that I can remember but eeerrrrrrr..............! You'll be better equipped due to the recording prowess of your ghetto blaster! Hope you're well my friend. Peter
  15. I'm always doing it mate!
  16. Apologies for adding piece meal - I just keep remembering records randomly. Phyllis Hyman - You Know How To Love Me
  17. Bobby Womack - So Many Sides of You (MCA) Although I think the first plays of that were from an acetate prior to the major release. Norman Connors - Take It To The Limit Peter
  18. Sing a Happy Song - The Escorts Giving It All To You - Cheryl Burdell Both of these must have been cheap and readily available as I had both when they were being hammered.
  19. Well soul sourcer Paddy is looking for one - he has it up in wants now, so someone could make him a happy fella with a nice copy at the right price. Peter
  20. Nice one Russell. Good to see what you actually look like! Sounds like you had a great time - I love the Greek Islands. That squids right up my street too. Peter
  21. No worries. Nowt to do with me really but your post came across as all the other interested parties weren't serious and hadn't made the same effort as you in inquiring about the record. It's the nature of buying and selling I'm afraid. Anyway, which one were you after? Post it up in the "wants" forum and you may get lucky. Peter
  22. I'm too thick to understand even the best attempts at humour Jonny - so way over my head! I get the thing about JM;s descriptions though - he's the master! P
  23. ? So all the other interested parties weren't serious buyers or dj's who all didn't take the time and effort to enquire about the record. Not being funny but you for real?
