  1. GIL SCOTT-HERON "Lady Day And John Coltrane"
  2. Sounds good mate. Enjoy. Peter
  3. Ha! I guess you could put The Snake in there. Metaphorically speaking or otherwise it's crap! Have to point out though that Al Wilson is one of my favourite soul artists - that record aside, he's awesome. Peter
  4. I'm ok thanks Steve. You think a bit like like me - although not quite as darkly as I have my chronic mentalist issues. I was just thinking about the nights drawing in earlier........well, June to August went fast so we'll get through until December 22nd quick enough and then we start the countdown till Spring! All a bit mad and need to be careful not to wish one's life away though. Had rubbish weather the last few days too. Peter
  5. I bet there are hundreds Paul. I'll get me thinking cap on.
  6. Evening Steve I hope all is well Sir. Nice pictures again - it's starting to get dark really early now and there is a real wiff of Autumn in the air. Misty mornings and the scent of changing seasons on the way. Peter
  7. Yep, there's plenty to go at Roburt. There's a superb Hi box set with accompanying booklets of notes - its very extensive. Ian D had a packaged one for sale the other week - cheap. Peter
  8. Yep, it's a super record Andy. The whole Memphis based Hi output is absolute class. The fantastic Darryl Carter is credited on the QE record - here's one from him.
  9. You said that already.
  10. You still enjoying that Stu. Peter
  11. Great record. Lots of versions - Ed Robinson is my favourite. Peter
  12. Not his best song but......................Al Wilson is up there with the greats. Awesome singer, songer writer, producer etc. Thanks for sharing. Peter
  13. That's terrible Steve - I hope she's ok. As you say at least the owner of the offending dog did the right thing. Bugger, that's upset me.
  14. Check out some of the Backbeats cd's Dean. Ian Dewhirst was selling some decent box sets cheaply on here too - lots of good stuff on the Hi label etc. Peter
  15. Probably from Flanny's Anorak Corner site.
  16. Good man Steve. Pleased all is well mate. i'm ok thanks - a couple of health type things going off but working my way through. You're right - lots of the old SS crew appeared to have jumped ship! Sending you and yours my best mate. Pete
  17. Whooa! I'm rubbish with heights! Thanks Steve - hope all is well. Not seen you on SS as much recently. P
  18. Wow, where/what is it Steve. Ignorant Pete
  19. Hi Steve Another summer almost gone - time wizzes by. I always struggle to differentiate between swallows. swifts and martins. Need to read my books more. Hope all is well mate. Peter
  20. Nice record. Georgia Blue - the flip, is the better side in my view - that's a great record. Someone on here will probably have one for sale. Peter
  21. Mine are just randomly stored on shelves. I don't even know what I have - apart from a lazy ass attitude to storing records.
  22. Great stuff Steve - thanks Just read the obituary too - sounds like he was a decent and kind man. Peter Edit - absolutely loved How Can I Tell Her - one of those records that made the early 80's scene. Storming dance track - remember Hockie who was never a huge dancer, dancing to it at one nighter. Maybe Clifton Hall or Cleethorpes Winter Gardens. Great times indeed.
  23. New to me as well Mick. Nice. Peter
