  1. I am entitled to my opinion - it's an open forum and I'm a member. What you think is neither here nor there to me to be honest. Probably best to keep your half baked smart ass lecture about soul music to yourself - its wasted on me.
  2. I thought it was awful! To the point where it was stretching the term "soul" to it's limit. Most certainly sounds like a film score.
  3. Morning Des Ill take Harold Melvin please. I threw my last one in the river Trent - but that's an entirely different story! I'll sort out payment when I get to work. I hope all is well mate. Pete
  4. A thing of beauty from me tonight. The oft underrated Dells - Life Is A Time. Simply stunning imo. Ave it.
  5. Thanks Everyone Unfortunately none of the suggestions are the record in question though. Probably flushed our nearly all the versions! Maybe, I did confuse it with another record - but I'm usually good at remembering, even when I'm pissed. Which is often. There was no playlist with the podcast which has thrown me this time. I'll keep on going. Pete
  6. Thanks everyone - but none of the suggestions so far. I'm starting to think that I imagined it! Keep em coming. Pete
  7. Thanks chaps - neither of those though. Pete
  8. No problem Rick - I appreciate you replied. There are loads of versions but I'd never heard this one before - really soulful crossover version. I'll keep looking!
  9. Thanks Rick That's not it though. Peter
  10. Hi All Heard a version of the Junior Walker classic that I haven't heard before recently. It didn't have the sax and it might have been a female vocal. I heard it on a crossover podcast but cant remember which one. Doh! Any help would be appreciated. Thanks Peter
  11. Cheers Chris. Stunning isn't is it - play it full blast! Hope yer well boss. P
  12. Great stuff Sean. Best time for me musically by far. Most of them stand the test of time and plenty of the cheapies stand up to scrutiny against some of the higher priced stuff. Thanks Peter
  13. I knew that you would know! LOL Just slicing some limes and lemons for my Vodka and Tonic evening - a little rub of lime around the rim of the glass. I'm posh I am - and I'm off work tomorrow! The amp beckons too.
  14. Is it a Spirita Auguta Dave? It would be an amazing coincidence if it was and I'm only guessing that because I've been looking at getting one for my garden.
  15. Well he doesn't want an answer from a dumb ass like me Dave!
  16. Tattoo Dave should know.
  17. Wow. Lovely garden Baz.
  18. Thanks. Hope yer well boss. Pete
  19. Where's my pint Kegsy?
  20. Never mind the bollocks old lad. Decimalisation was introduced on 14th February 1971 - so you're a year out there. As for the working out I didn't do that - this site did - https://www.thisismoney.co.uk/money/bills/article-1633409/Historic-inflation-calculator-value-money-changed-1900.html Just put us a pint of what's good in your local on the bar Kegsy!
  21. That wold be about £41.90 today. Bargain. Peter
  22. Thanks Russ I'm going to try and step out of my hermit/recluse existence a bit this year and maybe even aim to have a holiday - I haven't had one for 11 years. If I manage it I will be going to your Greek island - your photos and posts have made it my number one choice. Thank you. Peter
  23. Looking forwards to hearing the swallows and swifts calling in flight. Daffodils are up, snowdrops, blue bells we've got through another cold, dark winter. The yellow rape seed fields will be with us very shortly - I've seen some yellow already on my rural drive to Loughborough for work each day. Won't be long either till my favourite tree - the horse chestnut, treats us with its candelabra type blooms. I can hear the canal from my garden too - its starting to hear like spring over there too - ducks, coots, moorhens, swans etc are all starting to their courting songs. Lovely. Peter
