Another musical legend departs.
Sad news indeed.
-
Yep, thanks Chalky.
Some will certainly feel less "comfortable" reading those than others.
LOL.

Great stuff Mike.
Just been having a stroll down memory lane!
-
anyone use it much?
was it a useful addition to the guide?
any improvements needed ?
I am a member who had a period of absence - there were lots of changes when I returned and I thought I would struggle. Soon got up to speed and things that I use work for me ok.

Who'd have thought that a record I bought for £4 in Louth one winter Thursday night in the mid 70's would go on to become one of the most loved Northern anthems of all time.
RIP Lou.

Bloody hell Ian you get around! Louth! Louth!

I agree Jason. Chalky has put together a piece of real musical and social history - something well worth recording. Absolutely great stuff - and must have taken a great deal of effort and time. I've already saluted the man - but thanks again Chalky.

Debby Dobbins - Glad I Found You - what a cracking piece of soul music this is.
-
Is this the reason I saw a shopping basket near my profile yesterday afternoon ?
was only there for a short period, thought I was having one of my funny turns again,
That made me smile Tony.

Just listened to Ady's set - well balanced, well put together.
-
if anyone else would like to send him a letter
Tony was the best dj at the Highland Room in Blackpool during it's heyday of the early 70's. I became friends with him in 71 when us London lads would make the long journey up on a Saturday morning. We all fell in love with Judith but Jebby was one of the highlights of a Saturday night. Such a personality at the decks and on the mike.

Hey Dave
Nice one.
-
Look forward to it Byrney mate.
There are now 15 podcast with something like 20 hours of listening.
One more for Adam to do then it's the 60's Mafia!!
The Guy and Keb ones will be interesting. I have to confess that I never really learnt to appreciate the "60's newies" offerings of the pair - in fact I despaired at them, really didn't like them at all. I guess there might be room for some debate there - although I'm pretty certain that we have done that one before.
Interesting to hear some views though. I had a bad name for both Guy and Keb at the time - influenced by my take on their playlists.
-
Had almost forgot that Bronner Brothers track! I've got that somewhere.
-
Cheers Peter.
Adam always knew how to work the floor, the man had taste, even if it was "disco" to some!!!!
The odd track was border line - even for a disco lad like mesen!
