I don’t have a fancy set up at all. Technics separates - amp, deck, CD player etc, ploughed through some old JVC speakers. All very entry level, old kit - they were my mums who passed away 14 years ago. I miss my mum - it would have been her birthday today.
What is really cool is that my mum had an awesome Technics released cd - jazz and modern soul. I’ll go and find it in a minute - had some awesome soul on it including Ike Noble etc.
Here you go - awesome track list.

Certainly one to look out for. I emailed Richard about the progress a few years back and it was still a way off. I’d like to read it for sure. As Sam Cook said, It’s Been a Long Time Coming ................... but...........,,.,.,
He’s twenty from my extremely humble collection – OVO O. Some are album only. I’m toying with the idea of selling up again – they’re all in cardboard boxes. In no order; (apart from my ender Charlie!)

· These Things – Blue Sharks
· Rules – Gil Blanding
· What’s it Gonna be – Sam Dees

Yep I know it was a big spin back in the day. As you say someone obviously wanted it pretty badly.
Mm, something just struck me. I wonder if people collect vinyl for tv/film soundtracks and if they do what sort of prices/market is there?
Im going to start a new thread in freebasing!
Why would anyone want that? I wouldn’t give you four bob for it. It’s shite - it’s pushing it a bit to define it as northern soul, yet alone soul.
Horrible, nasty thing.
Not much beats Al Wilson, one of my favourite artists. But Johnny Deans cover of Ive Got A Feeling does it for me.
Love this label design too. Bought this off Pat Brady early 80’s
Nah. I diasagree. But that’s just me. Putting it out there that someone is a potential thief just ain’t cricket. Anyway, I’ve made my point and won’t post any further comments on this thread.
I won’t disagree with that. However, it is very unpleasant to mislay a record and to then suggest, with an apparent air of certainty that someone has stolen it. Other dj’s that had been around and any punters who had been up to the decks must have been thought to be thieves - in someone’s mind.
As I said earlier, a little more Care could save a whole lot of bother.
And to appear to be so certain that someone stole it! Not wanting to sound like a pedant - but a little more care in minding one's own records might be sound advice.
I concur with my learned friend. One of the best and most positive threads on the site. In fact it is more than a thread, it has become a permanent feature on Soul Source.
Here’s to a photographic 2018.
