  1. Not wishing to sound like a belligerent old git, although it perhaps may be a trad true, but............... Hasn't everyone who wants to post on this thread done so - if we're not careful it'll turn into a top 500 night! I've reported mesen so that mods can pass jundgement. Pete
  2. My, those are very long sharp teeth Grandma! Hope you’re well mate. Pete
  3. Nice choices Gogs. Would keep me happy for an hour or two. Pete
  4. A lot of the ones I’ve seen are far from mint. You’re always gonna pay a premium for minty vinyl,
  5. Nice photograph Mark. I used to have one or two Jackdaws visit my garden to feed. Last year they must have had a really succesful time breeding - there might have been two pairs or one pair had two clutches of eggs which fledged well. One chick in particular sqwauked non stop, so loudly, we could hardly sleep for weeks. I now have as many as 14 Jackdaws visit every day in a group - they’re a fairly big bird comparatively, and they eat me out of house and home. I’ve never seen so many - in a group they look quite intimidating. They’re a handsome bird and I suspect that they might keep the recently arrived Sparrow Hawk in check. ATB Pete
  6. Dont have a picture but worthy of note.............. I have a sparrow hawk back checking out my garden - it looks like a young male. Whilst they are a top predator and are an indication of a healthy bird population I am in two minds. I had a female hawk about six years ago - obviously nesting nearby with chicks. However over a four week period she picked off everyone of my tame Collared Doves - 7 of them who had become so tame I could feed then by hand and shout them down from the trees. They were each rendered to a neat pile of feathers on the lawn. GGRRRRR! Pete
  7. Good shout Dave. Lovely record. Pete
  8. Good lad. Pete
  9. Get everyone to sign a disclaimer on the door. “By signing this document you hereby accept that Patto will be playing Betty Boo, Spell Bound, from a Soul Junction 45, a legitimate and first release on a 7. Furthermore, the soul police have no juristriction in this matter.”
  10. Thanks for the new podcast Matt, I always enjoy listening in. Ity will take some time to get used to the new intro! Peter
  11. Yep Bobby Taylor (tailor) on the album, is a fantastic soul record. Album only and mine is still shrunk wrapped and unplayed. Pete
  12. Evening mate. No problem. I was a very late comer to GSH - my loss, but I'm catching up now. Obviously, always knew about The Bottle, and the one above slightly less so but remember it being played. It is only in the last three years that I've started to get to grips with his "other" stuff - poet, rapper, writer, singer, performer, director - much of which was focused on black american rights and politics. A real genius, exceptionally cool, probably one of the most important contemporary artists going. And absolutely one of my top five artists now. God Bless Gil. Pete
  13. Hi Sean Hope all is well mate. That link doesn't work - which track are you referring to? Thanks Pete EDIT v Ar, this one - I remember that being played.
  14. Nice. Got one of them someplace in the pile. Pete

  17. Ay up Dave. Ignore the “parking fine” they’re not enforceable. Happy New Year mate. Pete
  18. Surely not. According to the seller it would make a nice addition to anyone's collection. And just to reassure any buyer that they're getting a good deal the dodgy bastard the top notch seller has got a 99.7% feedback - I mean, why wouldn't you buy with confidence.
  19. Here's my first caption! Feathers just black and white, piercing eyes, so amber and bright. Behold, the Tufted Duck, such a beautiful sight.
  20. You must be not far away from Loughborough Alan. I work there. Pete
  21. Massive spin at Notts Oddfellows niter in Leicester - probably circa 1984. If memory serves me right it was the shamed vicar.
  22. Great stuff. Looks like they’re all best pals. thanks Pete
  23. Nice pics Johnny. It would be great to have a few pics of your dogs. thanks Pete
  24. I am crazy! Although having said that I rarely play my vinyl these days - easier to blast my stuff out via my iphone and decent headphones.
