  1. Not wishing to promote bootlegs - but that had an awesome trackback listing at the time. I'm sure mine came fro somewhere starting with a T and ending in N! P
  2. Always save the best till last Mal. Ows yer feet bearing up mate? Pete
  3. Yep, that makes sense Chalky.
  4. I suspect that it was Richard working on the basis that this moody album was pretty much Richards play list at late Wigan. WFON FM All Night Long with Willie G & the Styles — No second chance (Deadbeats) Bobby Jason — All these things (William Powell) James Lewis — That’s the way (The Q) Professionals - That's why Court Davis — The lover who loves you not (Try to think what you're doing) Seven Souls - I still John & Weirdest — Memories Ty Karim - Lighten up Cheryl Berdell Doug Parkinson Jan Jones Charles Johnson Tyrone Barkley Otis Clay James Mack - Over the top (Roy Dawson)
  5. Disco!? Nah, them vocals and harmonies are silky soul stuff.
  6. They are about but they ain't cheap. One of my top ten early 80's dancers. It was massive at Clifton Hall - I don't really associate any one DJ with it - it was a big spin for many. Pete
  7. Yes, he was a really nice man. Lived not far from me until he passed away. I've said this many times on here before but........................ Edwin is buried in the same cemetery as my mum - Wilford Hill in Nottingham. Its a very peaceful place, up on a hill, and I often imagine Edwin singing to my mum - his voice gently resonating with the wind rustling through the trees. God bless both my Mum and Edwin. Peter
  8. Yes I understand that - Gordy could see a pot of cash better than most. My point was that if you talk about the best vocalists over the year I do not see Edwin's name come up very often. Jules Holland said that Edwin was the best live vocalist he'd ever worked with - and he knows a bit about music.
  9. Edwin is King. Far too underrated as one of the best vocalists ever. Peter
  10. Hi Steve I hope all is well mate. Great photographs as always. Looks like Bamby flushed out s magpie! Pete
  11. Well that's an orrible layout. I hope your garden designs are a little better!
  12. Great pictures Andy. Were there any fishing boats landing sea food? I love anything edible, fresh from the sea. You get around a fair bit, thanks for sharing your travels with us. Pete
  13. This was posted on my twitter account.
  14. All nice records mate - I hope you get lucky. It’s interesting that the Bobby King 45 seems to be having a bit of a resurgence. Is it getting any plays? I bought a copy from the states a few years ago - a nice bargain. Thought to be album only for a bit. ATB mate. Pete
  15. Hi Chalky I hope you get some offers. If you do it would be good to see some scans of the “northern” back pages. They were great times - I was running a small do back then, nearly 40 years ago. The picture I posted of me recently was taken there. The Eagle Hotel in Mablethorpe. ATB mate. Pete
  16. Ha! I wasn't counting Japanese reissues. Peter
  17. Album only I think John. But don't bet you're bottom dollar on it! Pete
  18. That’s a nice record. Not withstanding that Mr Callier is king on this one. Peter
  19. Great stuff lads. Thanks Pete
  20. Hope this is ok to post. Lovely footage.
  21. I said I was thick Baz and there’s the proof.
  22. I’m with you bro. I’m thick as fcuk - many will vouch for that. So, what the fcuk is DILYIDID!
  23. Indeed! Some great stuff to listen to on the ones already posted. Sorted my Friday night out mate.
