SOUL SOURCE RECORD CLUB 2018, 50 YEARS OF RARE SOUL
If my memory is correct - and I wouldn't stake any money on it, my first introduction to Tina, was via a little portable radio, late at night - might have been Froggys radio show, but equally that may well be bollox. Anyway this was the first track of hers that got me hooked - I did post it a while back and it was received well. I love her voice and I love the really messy bit at the end. She's also on my swoon list. Pete

SOUL SOURCE RECORD CLUB 2018, 50 YEARS OF RARE SOUL
I love Teena Marie (RIP). I think she's only had one mention on SS - so here we go. She made some great records and is right up there as a vocalist - check her out, you wont be disappointed. There a few versions of this. Ave it. Pete

YOUR AUTUMN OF TOMORROW
It was shite back then and it’s still shite now.

Unbelievable
How can anyone retain any ounce of integrity by playing illegal counterfeit records? I’m just a thick lad so perhaps you could explain the notion of honesty by playing bootlegged records. Pete

With chips and curry sauce. Nice. Pete

Charles Johnson never had a love
Cheers Rick. I seem to remember him having a massive cross hanging round his neck. Yes, I understand he had a great collection. Pete

Penlee Lifeboat - an act of incredible bravery that ended in catastrophic tragedy. I worked for thew RNLI in the 90's - a mere fundraising manager. I did have the privilege of going out on a number of rescues on different all weather class boats. Not many people know that the weather conditions can be so bad that regular crew members get sea sick and succumb to hypothermia. Pete

Gonna ask Mike for OTO forum. Original threads only.

Unbelievable
Bloody hell. My sun burn has somewhat diminished. Unlike this rerun, of reruns, of previous rerun threads. Margaret! Margaret!

Unbelievable
Its not "unbelievable" really though. It is probably the most recurrent discussion on the site - in its various guises. The sun stroke makes me abrasive

Not wishing to promote bootlegs - but that had an awesome trackback listing at the time. I'm sure mine came fro somewhere starting with a T and ending in N! P

I suspect that it was Richard working on the basis that this moody album was pretty much Richards play list at late Wigan. WFON FM All Night Long with Willie G & the Styles — No second chance (Deadbeats) Bobby Jason — All these things (William Powell) James Lewis — That’s the way (The Q) Professionals - That's why Court Davis — The lover who loves you not (Try to think what you're doing) Seven Souls - I still John & Weirdest — Memories Ty Karim - Lighten up Cheryl Berdell Doug Parkinson Jan Jones Charles Johnson Tyrone Barkley Otis Clay James Mack - Over the top (Roy Dawson)

Charles Johnson never had a love
They are about but they ain't cheap. One of my top ten early 80's dancers. It was massive at Clifton Hall - I don't really associate any one DJ with it - it was a big spin for many. Pete

Poll: Version Battle - I Have Faith in You
Yes, he was a really nice man. Lived not far from me until he passed away. I've said this many times on here before but........................ Edwin is buried in the same cemetery as my mum - Wilford Hill in Nottingham. Its a very peaceful place, up on a hill, and I often imagine Edwin singing to my mum - his voice gently resonating with the wind rustling through the trees. God bless both my Mum and Edwin. Peter

Yes I understand that - Gordy could see a pot of cash better than most. My point was that if you talk about the best vocalists over the year I do not see Edwin's name come up very often. Jules Holland said that Edwin was the best live vocalist he'd ever worked with - and he knows a bit about music.
