  1. I won’t disagree with that. However, it is very unpleasant to mislay a record and to then suggest, with an apparent air of certainty that someone has stolen it. Other dj’s that had been around and any punters who had been up to the decks must have been thought to be thieves - in someone’s mind. As I said earlier, a little more Care could save a whole lot of bother.
  2. It is good etiquette and a site condition that sales prices stay listed. Just saying like.
  3. And to appear to be so certain that someone stole it! Not wanting to sound like a pedant - but a little more care in minding one's own records might be sound advice.
  4. All's well that ends well. Good job someone wasn't put into the frame for it - and chinned!
  5. It may well be in demand - for people who are willing to pay silly money for bootlegs.
  6. Well done Russ. looking forward to some great pictures. Pete
  7. I concur with my learned friend. One of the best and most positive threads on the site. In fact it is more than a thread, it has become a permanent feature on Soul Source. Here’s to a photographic 2018. Pete
  8. There's a boot look a like and another unlicensed reissue on Soul Magic. Run out details from popsike Matrix / Runout (A Side Label 1-1): 2349-1 Matrix / Runout (B Side Label 1-2): 2349-2 Rights Society: BMI
  9. Another superb song culled from Bobby's Poet 1 album. Stunning vocals from the man himself, matched key for key by the female harmonies/backing. You just cannot beat Bobby, well, occasionally perhaps. If you think you're lonely now.
  10. Its a beatuful video and Sammy is perfect for it. I suspct that in his interpretation of the song he’s Mr Bojangles and he’s singing about himself. Pete
  11. After struggling for many years with drug addiction and being shunned by many people in the industry following his marriage to Sam Cooke’s widow, the King was back. His comeback albums Poet 1 and Poet 2, in the early 80’ are surely two of his finest. So, from the first album, the stunning, Just My Imagination. Bobby at his best. More to come from this album over the coming days - sticking to the sort of one pick a day!
  12. Wowser! Never heard that before. Thanks for sharing. Peter
  13. Great pick mate - I was going to post that up later. Lyrically, it’s quite beautiful, and the vocals absolutely define Mr Womack’s unique voice. This single record really hooked my brother, whose never been into soul music. I now buy him Bobby albums for his birthday. One of my top five artists of all time. Pete
  14. Lots of Bobby Womack. I’m also interested in the rights movement of black Americans. So I’ll pick this one for now - but there are loads. It finishes with “that” speech from Martin Luther King jnr.
  15. Happy Christmas everyone. Wishing for everyone to have peaceful and healthy New Year. Pete
  16. About bloody time Martyn. Great pick - I really Barbara Mason, she has a very unique voice. I also like the design of the Arctic label - lots of great records put out by them Have a good Christmas mate. Pete
  17. Thanks Sharon As you know I am a huge admirer of Clyde - he's a super little dog, very handsome too. Pete
  18. Morning Dave Well done mate. I enjoyed reading that. ATB Pete
  19. He's lovely mate. I've been umming and arrring about getting a dog for the last few years. As some of you may know, I am on my own, and have a few mentalist issues, which in relation to getting a dog manifest themselves as such; What if someone breaks into my house and a), steals my dog, or b), my dog gets lose and either gets run over or lost; and; How will I cope when he dies? Those maybe quite irrational thoughts for someone who is a little better adjusted in life than me, however, nonetheless, they are things that go round and round in my head. So, I think I can get over those two by spending some money on my fairly derelict house to make it more secure, and reassuring myself that I came to terms with losing Little Smith. (my cat of 18 years). The other thing is that I can do is a mixture of taking him to work or getting a dog sitter/walker. Yep, I think its time. The benefits far outweigh the negatives. I just need to make a strategic plan. Pete
  20. That’s a sure fire rock and roll tune. Right up Martyn’s street. Pete
  21. Absolutely Len. That is horrible, nasty, filthy. That should never have been massive - anywhere. Its an affront to human decency. Round my parts Guy and Keb, that 60's mafia sound, were known as Guy Dustbin and Keb Garbage. Obviously, not mesen like. Particularly as that Keb geezer is a bit handy!
  22. Happy Christmas everyone. May the New Year be peaceful. Peter
  23. That May as be the case. Like I said I think it’s shite.
