  1. Fantastic Johnny. One of the the things I appreciate about this thread is seeing posters gain in enthusiasm and professionalism in their craft. Great stuff. Pete
  2. Artistics - smoother, deeper vocals. Easy call for me. Pete
  3. Left a copy of a fairly expensive 45 in the car once. The sun turned it into a black vinyl fruit bowl. I've mentioned this before but I also inadvertently frisbeed a copy of Prayin by Harold Melvin from Lady Bay Bridge right into the the River Trent.
  4. A real southern feel. Nice one Rick. Pete
  5. Yup remember hearing that played Roburt. I wouldn’t have without you posting it. Thanks Pete
  6. I suspect that the soul packs of today bare no resemblance to the 70’s ones. As in antique dealing’s everyone knows the prices of everything these days. Pete
  7. And I’m going to be a proper little Madam! She’s a lovely little girl Mal. The biggest regret of my life was not having any little ones. Pete
  8. Mm. I was born there Dave.
  9. Nice. Ill be lucky to get a day at Skeggy.
  10. Thats pretty cool Josep. Peter
  11. Another from my Twitter feed
  12. Hi Chris I've not seen a show mentioned recently - probably missed it. Anyway, always enjoyable. Ill get on this tomorrow night. Hope all is well. Pete
  13. If my memory is correct - and I wouldn't stake any money on it, my first introduction to Tina, was via a little portable radio, late at night - might have been Froggys radio show, but equally that may well be bollox. Anyway this was the first track of hers that got me hooked - I did post it a while back and it was received well. I love her voice and I love the really messy bit at the end. She's also on my swoon list. Pete
  14. I love Teena Marie (RIP). I think she's only had one mention on SS - so here we go. She made some great records and is right up there as a vocalist - check her out, you wont be disappointed. There a few versions of this. Ave it. Pete
  15. It was shite back then and it’s still shite now.
  16. How can anyone retain any ounce of integrity by playing illegal counterfeit records? I’m just a thick lad so perhaps you could explain the notion of honesty by playing bootlegged records. Pete
  17. With chips and curry sauce. Nice. Pete
  18. The fire will have a devastating impact on wildlife and the country side in general. I hope that the fire fighters and everyone else who is helping are kept safe and their efforts are successful in bringing the fire under control. Pete
  19. Cheers Rick. I seem to remember him having a massive cross hanging round his neck. Yes, I understand he had a great collection. Pete
  20. Hi Rick Is JC the geezer with the long grey hair. I always think he looked a bit like Jesus! Is that where the JC comes fro,? Pete
  21. One of the many records which I had stolen some years ago.
  22. Penlee Lifeboat - an act of incredible bravery that ended in catastrophic tragedy. I worked for thew RNLI in the 90's - a mere fundraising manager. I did have the privilege of going out on a number of rescues on different all weather class boats. Not many people know that the weather conditions can be so bad that regular crew members get sea sick and succumb to hypothermia. Pete
  23. Gonna ask Mike for OTO forum. Original threads only.
  24. Bloody hell. My sun burn has somewhat diminished. Unlike this rerun, of reruns, of previous rerun threads. Margaret! Margaret!
  25. Its not "unbelievable" really though. It is probably the most recurrent discussion on the site - in its various guises. The sun stroke makes me abrasive
