  1. I totally agree mate - soul music at it's best. I'm not sure where I heard if first - but definitely think it was one of Sam's. Npw there's a man who loves and knows his soul.
  2. Wicked mate. Was that a Soul Sam spin?
  3. John I never played the flip of Sad Girl - and sold the record a few years back - it was mint, always regret selling. Any chance of a clip of the flip? Cheers mate.
  4. Thanks mate - how chilled is that!
  5. Don;t have the technology to stick stuff up........ But Terry Callier's Still Water is very mellow - along with lots of his other stuff
  6. great shout mate.
  7. There's another red here too - season ticket holder. Sit in A block. Not particularly enamered with CC - but come on you reds!
  8. It's a great record to dance to.
  9. I loved the Daybreak track - still do. I had a copy and sold it dirt cheap! Along with Charles Johnson, Mind and Matter, Swiss Movement, Bobby Reed, ZZ and Co, Greg Perry etc. Great music, great times.
  10. - I just can't think of one - bloody hell!
  11. Didn't know that tune - I do now. Wicked soul music.
  12. I've lost track on this thread - what's it all about Alfie? Has Tyrone Barclay - Man of Value got anything to do with it? Or Larry "Top Cat" Houston - Spend Some Time Together? or have I just gone "Over the Top"
  13. I think it's a different geezer Jamie. Hockey has fairly dark skin but I wouldn't describe him as being mixed race. He's a very skinny geezer!
  14. Hi Jamie I'm not sure about the clothes shop either? But I'm pretty sure he has a sister - but can't remember her name!!
  15. Hi Sean He sure could - I saw him at the last Cleethorpes Winter Gardens do in February. And guess what? He was dancing to Curtis! I think it was Poke who spun it. I think I loved those After Dark times as much as you mate.
  16. They certainly are - I always remember Hockey dancing to Curtis at Clifton Hall and Cleethorpes - and it took a special record to get him on dance floor!
  17. All of these are wicked tunes mate - I loved the scene at the time this lot were first being played. Curtis included.
  18. Nice one mate.
  19. Been playing Bobby Womack stuff for the last two nights as a result of this thread. The diversity of his music, his voice range and style is awesome. From silky smooth tenor stuff down to deep, deep, billy goat gruff stuff! I've had a great couple of evenings - cooking paella, sipping Chianti - and Bobby blasting out. Not converted yet? As Bobby himself would say - I don't understand it! Great stuff.
  20. I always liked the record - not heard it for ages, but I think I still like it!
  21. You Must Enjoy Twiddling With That Upper Case Keyboard Key!
  22. Yes - a most amusing response methinks sir
