  1. A top guy all round then Mike!
  2. Been sorting through some of my dusty old records and came accross Shane Martin - a track which I actually like a lot. May seem a simple question to the more knowledgable on here - but whats the story with this track. It was booted wasn't it? Seem to think the british release is the rare one. Can anyone give me the full SP? Thanks Peter
  3. Aha! I thought you wanted to do a Pete Smith with the record!
  4. What about modern? That's cool and upfront.
  5. You've lost me now!
  6. A match made in heaven then. You can have my broken one for seventy quid - you won't have to use your sledge hammer.
  7. There's always been "pants" stuff happening on the Northern Soul scene - whether it be the "last, last, last, last, last................ever nighter at Wigan, or some of the absolute shocking records that have been played and hyped up. It's always gonna happen. I don't see anything wrong with wanting to see the likes of Dean Parrish perform - I saw him at Cleethorpes a few years back and felt it was quite a privelege. As for having your picture taken with two RW etc - well yes, it's a bit of a joke. I would not object to a rather large pizza after a night of beer and dancing - saves you having to find a takeway on the way home!
  8. Sam always rocks behind the decks - he's always enthusiastic about what's being played.
  9. I think this is a great double sider. I sold one a few years back without playing the flip - Next Stop. Somone on here posted a clip up for me - I can't remember who it was now. Anyway - whilst doing some renovation work on the house recently I found another one - unfortuntately under a pile of rubble from the demolished chimney breast! What's this fetch now - I think I sold my mint one for fifty - perhaps six years ago?
  10. As long as it gets yer where you want to go mate - and the heater works in the winter!
  11. Sounds like you could be sorted now Ken. I've just sold a great little car - a nice looking silver, old shape renault clio. It was immac for the year - and diesel. Super little car - I'd have let you have that cheap. I'm sure you'll be ok with yer fiat.
  12. I'm not so sure - I'm gonna watch this closely.
  13. Forgot what a voice the man has! Nice stuff mate.
  14. It was there a minute a go!
  15. Ok Pete - I concede. Reddy-orange!
  16. Reddy-orange = Pink!
  17. I don't care! I think the HSJ was pink too from memory - highly irrelevant, but I think it was.
  18. Top man Pete - it was Holly St James! I know a lot of people think this is fooking shite! I still like it. Now, what did I do with that record.
  19. It hurt me real bad Bearsy.
  20. This is slightly off topic - and perhaps a little tedious, but................... For some reason I can't get Mr Fox from the label out of my head - because I had some boot or other on this "label". Seem to recall it was a big, big record at the time - but can't think what it was?
  21. Good thread Bearsy - Ouch! I began my soul career like most - initiated with the 60's sounds - you mention the Salvadors - what a classy tune. I like good soul music. I still like the oldies but these days prefer seventies and anything up to new release stuff. The best era musically - in terms of what was being played, for me was 1977 - 1984. Richard Searling at the Casion was awesome - his new sixties and modern were phenomenal. 1979 and the oldies/newies debate - I went along with Sam, Arthur, Poke etc. Having said this I like all sorts.
  22. I wish I still had that tune on PAP!
  23. But Bearsy I thought you only liked Mod and oldies stuff! We'll soon have you as fully fledged member of the dark side!
