I'll Always Need You "And if I got to search this world to find that girl that's what I'd do.............I Need Love "I gave up everything, my love, my life, those things I'd possessed...........Gone With The Wind Happy days! 4. It's a cracking tune - not heard it for ages. Good luck mate.
  5. It's quite a debate this. The book simply lists what Kev Roberts see's as his top 500 - for whatever reason - simple as that. I like many others wouldn't choose a great number of his choices. I think the book was written and intended for the masses that may have liked the odd "Northern Soul" record.
  6. That's quite an interesting debate in itself - the disassociation thing. I'm a modern fan - but like many others I cut my teeth on 60's soul. I still like sixties and all forms of soul music and would never try and disassociate myself from Northern Soul. How could I - for me modern and seventies are an intrinsic part of the Northern Soul scene. I think there are many sixties fans who like to disassociate themselves from anything that was recorded from 1970 onwards.
  7. What a line mate!
  8. Old farts - you speak for yourself! I was only nine when I went and am therefore still very young!
  9. Happy Christmas mate.
  10. Wicked tune anyway - I know I should have remembered it!
  11. Ok - this is a real big ask. Looked at the Oliver Joy thread a couple of times - and the title reminded me of another song - which I remember hardly anything about! I think it might have been called something "Our Love Keeps Growing" or our "Love will grow" It was very mid tempo, with deep deep main vocals. I guess it was played early 80's but was a 70's tune - might have even been late 60's. It's really bugging me. Apart from that I know nuffink. Anyone?
  12. Wild - and often dangerous too! We did have some wicked times though!
  13. Wow - that's beautiful Annie. I managed the jigsaw in one hour and forty five minutes. It was quite challenging.
  14. Merry Christmas Gavin - hope you have a great time with the two little uns. Look forward to catching up with you next year mate. Happy Christmas to all my other friends on soul source. x
  15. Wild days - we were all out of fooking control! I've slept at the side of duel carriage ways, railway stations, burned out cars. The youth of today - they know fook all!

l Ay Up Mate I don;t think we could have avoided each other - it must have been nigh on impossible. I'm pretty certain that I remember a beret or two. Blue? Happy days. Me and my partner in crime brought a mini bus full from lincs to notts one night - I think we did loughborough one night and the palais the next. The van broke down on clifton bridge - we had a few of the notts lot with us at the time - we managed to get it going in thr pooring rain. Ended up at someones high rise flat - I was totally fooked. Pretty sure we then went to KJ before the palais. I had a real bad paranoid night!

Hi Gav See him occasionally around Notts - I'm trying to remember when I last saw him..... but I can't remember fook all at the minute!
  18. No! A beard is for life not just for Christmas! Now - let me think, baby Jesus.
  19. It was never the journey there. It was the long, long journey home. I was never one for coach or car travel - I was nearly always sick. After a night on the old meds I was always sick!
  20. That is funny!
  21. It is Christmas Malayka What more could you want than a barn? Ok - a donkey and a few baying oxen. We could find three smart asses - I mean Wise Men from SS and you're all set for a magical Christmas. Twas Christmas night in the barn - nothing stirred apart from the oxen baying...........................
  22. Better than a slap in the face with a wet kipper - unless it was a high heeled number.
