  1. Really sorry to hear this. I only know Mark from on here - he posted a few pictures of him and his dog a while back Pete
  2. Every picture posted is good therapy. pete
  3. Great post Chalky. What a fantastic legacy Richard has given us. 1979 was when I really started - although Wigan 1981 and Clifton Hall, and Cleethorpes Winter Gardens under Steve Crofts stewardship were my best years. Yate was tainted due to the massive coach drive back - sick as a dog and bouts of paranoid schizophrenia. Pete
  4. Wow! Looks great Steve. Happy hunting - with the camera ibviousky. I hope you and Lou have a fantastic time and that the weather holds up for you. Pete.
  5. The soul scene for many was a dance scene, not everyone, but I would suggest a majority. Holly St James is never going to be a soul record - I'm purposely not using the term "northern", but it is a fantastic, atmospheric, dance record, particularly so for the majority of attendees, who were off their faces on amphetamine. It is a record that I still like hearing. Pete
  6. Evening Steve Yes, I'm ok mate thanks. I hope all is good with you and Lou. I enjoyed the photo thread - I'm pretty sure that I remember seeing you about back in the day. The old picture of you with a tash, looks very familiar. Pete
  7. The youths of today haven't got a clue. They're taking the wrong drugs - ecstasy and charlie wont sustain an all nighter scene, they're rubbish. They need to get some proper gear like base amphetamine down em.
  8. Super mid tempo track which was a massive spin early 80's. On nice yellow vinyl - I bought mine a few years ago when I started collecting again. Swiss Movement
  9. Yes serious - obviously the woman is your missus - which one r u?
  10. Whichn oine is ytou and the missus?
  11. Here's a very recent one of me. I really don't like having my photo taken - I look a mess! But, this one I'm ok with.
  12. I think they’re actually very nice. Wouldn’t want them in the house though. I had one living in a huge pile of rubble outside my back door once. It was in the winter and I became aware of it after hearing strange noises at the back door at night for about a week. I finally noticed that something had chewed a huge hole through the wooden weather board at the bottom of the back door. In the spring we filled two skips with the rubble - after nearly a mornings work, down to the last couple of barrow fulls, Mr Rat jumped off my mates shovel and scampered off. He was the size of a rabbit! Pete
  13. Yep that’s a proper record. Full on stomper? I’m not so sure about that. It’s one of those records that I always did that posy, lazy walkabout dance style to. Stomper type stuff was never really my bag. Pete
  14. That’s really intrresting mate. Thanks for sharing. Pete
  15. I think the True Image version is Ike Stong and a band. I could be wrong. apologies Chalky I didn’t see you beat me to the Butch find.
  16. Yep Curtis was a mega record - still love. Also two versions - with or without the disco bongos. It’s never straight forward is it. Managed to get a bingo one some years ago before prices went from mad to bad!
  17. Wow. There’s also the mega rare alternative version with the different chorus. A Butch find and a topic previously discussed on SS.
  18. Yes I think it was Richard at last days of Wigan. It was also a massive record for him, and others, at Clifton Hall. It was one of those modern anthems for me back then. I don’t think it’s rare but it doesn’t come up often - I don’t yhink you’ll get one for less than £200. Youre calling out some good records Stubbsy. Pete
  19. I never said it wasn’t a factor. But 95% of the attendees were not dancing all night on beer.
  20. I suspect it was coke Pete. Now, look into my eyes, look into my eyes.
