No need for apologies my friend. It's a story that I would like to be true - because it adds more interest to the record/thread. It might have even been Sam who told me - but I don;'t remember!

I'm not sure that your post would make it untrue. The last Cleethorpes all dayer was March 2007 if I recall - so he may well have played it in Spain too.
  3. Debby Dobbins - Glad I Found You - what a cracking piece of soul music this is.

  5. Yep, this has become incredibly boring. No interest or entertainment value whatsoever.
  6. I don't like this record. Never have. Each to their own.
  7. Interesting stuff Kris. Sounds like different artists to me - although I've never had the best ear. A definitive answer would be goood.
  8. Nice one Martin! Peter
  9. They are definitely not all the same artist.
  10. Amazing stuff - real life stories. Thanks Roburt and everyone who has contributed.
  11. Yep, absolutely. Our passion and interest in the music keeps throwing up these "wonders". I love the intrigue and the twists and turns - it's fantastic, real life, contemporary history. Brilliant stuff - lifelong learning indeed!
  12. I'm playing catch up and just had a listen - thanks Smiffy. Cleaner and clearer vocals is what I can hear in the main. They are both top draw pieces of soul - great dance music.
  13. Great record. Interesting information.
  14. No it isn't. Apparently you like to play chess while your fishing though!
  15. I've stopped buying stuff now mate - someone will have it I'm sure. And I've given it a bump!
  16. Hi Keith Never heard that Tony Stone record and when you said it was a great version I thought "yeah right". I've always been a fan of Geoff Perry's song - but you're right. It's a pretty damn good version!
  17. Thanks Gareth That's really interesting.
  18. Isn't that just ian's style though Bob? There's some nice stuff on the podcasts in my view.
  19. I have only read the title of the thread. But my initial response is .......................cobblers.
  20. I knew you'd have heard it a million times and I saw the cake. Your surname reminded me of my ex's dad Mick who was from Preston. I went to Eccles market with him a few times - and we bought cakes. He passed away a few years ago and I was very fond of him. So there was a melancholy touch to my post. I wasn't just being cheeky!
  21. Do you like a cake Pete?
