  1. Thanks mate, yes I've watched both of those. Peter
  2. Well said Graham. I hope all is well Sir. Peter
  3. Hi Chris See below, plus I'll also have a think about other stuff I've seen. I hope all is well mate. Peter
  4. The French series is far better. I do like French tv/movies - there's just something different about it. And that isn't a queue for a smart arse to say it's the language. I'm currently watching one of "Walters" programmes on catch up 4 - The Sleepers, a Dutch thriller. Not as good as some of his others but worth a watch. I also binge watched On Call streaming on Prime. Very good with a 7.6 IMDB rating - very good too. On Call (TV Series 2025– ) - IMDb Peter
  5. I don't collect anymore but have bought plenty of records from Johnny over the years. I have never had a bad experience with him and he's always been a gentleman. Peter
  6. I was just interested to know how many you were waiting for and your level of frustration given some of the things you've said. Anyway, no big deal. Happy New Year. Peter
  7. Perhaps, un-theoretically, you have a better understanding of Johnny's business than the rest of us, and therefore your acid comments are a little more appropriate. But, in the alternative, I think that probably isn't true and that you are in fact being a little mean and over the top with your comments. Incidentally just how many records have you ordered? Peter
  8. I agree. I think that anyone who ordered items and didn't expect some sort of delay given the enormity of the sale has been a little short-sighted; or in the alternative they don't know Johnny and his enormous set up. Be patient, kind and trusting. Peter
  9. I'm quite certain that he's already caved in! Happy New Year Steve. Peter
  10. Absolutely Graham. I'm sure some people are very frustrated but suggesting going round to Johnny's place is just inflammatory nonsense. Encouraging people to check out where his address is sounds intimidating - however frustrated people might be there's no need for that sort of talk. On a completely different note, I hope all is well Graham my old mate. Happy New Year Sir. Peter
  11. There's always those with differing opinions Chris - I speak as I find. I hope all is well buddy. Peter
  12. I'm sure Johnny and his staff are working as hard as they can to get orders out as quickly as possible. He is, and always has been, a first rate seller, and always a pleasure to deal with. Peter
  13. Probably controversial but there is no escaping the fact that amphetamine drove most of the big all niters in days gone by. Whilst still some imbibe said substance not too many do due to age and health - although I do know some 60/70 year olds that still partake. The younger Bristol scene seems to be thriving and I'm only guessing that amphetamine doesn't drive that like the old days. It appears, and I could be totally wrong, but the young uns are doing what we couldn't, or at least wouldn't. Just pure energy and youth? Any views? Peter
  14. Astrid, the French version I believe, is far better.
  15. Yes, somebody ruined it with a nasty remix - I don't know whether it was a legitimate release or not. I wouldn't have given permission to create such a monstrosity of such a lovely record. Peter
  16. They were type cast far too much for "Soul Man" - they made far better records than that and were relatively overlooked by many. Sad loss. Peter
  17. I just binge watched Swedish thriller The Breakthrough, and enjoyed it very much. I also watched the first episode of On Call on Prime last night. A cop thriller - looking good. Peter
  18. As has been said if you only buy what you like you'll rarely be disappointed. That was always my philosophy as a collector. And I was never disappointed. By way of example I remember buying a copy of the Blue Sharks on Gran Prix - when it was "uncovered" and the price fell a few people scoffed. But, I was very happy in having it - I always loved the record, the mystique it once had, and a minter looks beautiful on that label. I still love it and happy to own one - it's still a hard one to get hold of although it's obviously not a rarity in the grand scale of things. Peter Edit. Just to add to this, this was a big spin for Soul Sam at one point, I seem to recall he bought his copy back from a dealer in Italy, just for the very last all dayer at the Cleethorpes Winter Gardens before it closed for good. Everyone knows who the Blue Sharks really were don't they?

  20. Yep, big thanks to Zanetti and Steve for keeping Johnny's auction results coming our way. Must be Happy New Year - there have been no squabbles over the resulting prices ........................yet! Happy New Year everyone. Peter xx
  21. Happy Christmas to everyone associated with Soul Source. Special thanks to Mike for another soulful year of the site, including the moderators, and of course to all of my friends who contribute. (Everyone). Lets hope it's peaceful and that everyone stays safe. Peter
  22. It is rumoured than someone once heard a northern record in my kitchen. Peter
  23. Thanks mate I appreciate the reply. I've watched a bit of that but then forgot where I got to! I've been tinkering with the idea of rewatching from the beginning again so your prompt will encourage me to go back to it. I think I've seen that there's a new series on the way. I felt a bit silly calling you Sweetchocolate, what's your name? I'm sure that you're very sweet nonetheless. If you're a new member then welcome to Soul Source. Peter
  24. All three are great records. The Delites is my pick of the bunch. I've always loved it, fantastic dance track and I concur - I always associate this with Sam. Peter
  25. Ian Levine described Jimmy Burns as a 60's stomper in the review. Now, given some of the "stompers" which were played around the same time, lots of them 100 mile an hour non soul rubbish, I would say that Jimmy's record was more mid tempo. Just a personal opinion. Either way it's a fabulous dance track, something I've always liked, and one I associate with Martin (Soul Sam). Peter
