  1. Cheers Moldie Interesting stuff - there's something nice about her vocals. Not sure I'm hoooked on the arrangement - but she got something for sure. Thanks for posting/sharing. Peter
  2. Never seen or heard that - don't even know who she is? Any more info - I like her vocals on that. Interesting. Is that her on the clip - pretty girl. Peter
  3. Oops, might have read the original post wrongly - sorry. It's the rum. Peter
  4. Mentioned this on a radio show earlier Alan. I have this on the Turn You to Love album and think that is the version which used to get plays back in the day. But, there are other versions - I think there are at least two more but don't know the detail. Not much help is it - doh! I think one might be an accoustic take. Be interested to hear other answers. Peter
  5. Great record mate. Big record for Poke at Clifton Hall which is where I know it from. Popular prior to that period too I understand - but that was before my time. Seen a few Carnival bits about - lots appear to be a bit shabby. Hope you get one buddy. Peter
  6. Nice looking thing that. Something of beauty Dave! Sounds great too I should add. Peter
  7. I really like this Andy. New to me governor. Peter
  8. Listened to the entire show now. Great stuff Sean and Tats - superb taste in soul music gentleman with a knowledge to match. I loved it from start to finish - not one record I didn't like and hard to single anything out. If you're into proper soul music get it downloaded and have a listen. Thanks Sean and Tats. Best Peter
  9. Got it! Playing it now - will feedback later! Thanks everyone. Peter
  10. Hi John Hope you're well. Could you copy the and paste the link in please. Thanks Peter

  12. Yep, I thought you were the Rich I thought you were! Good to have a chat mate. Peter
  13. Very sorry to hear that too. Mr Callier had a very special kind of relationship with the people who enjoyed both his music and him as a person. Peter
  14. Ah, Melly. Nearly missed it - I didn;t see this post until now, so thanks for the FB email. I'm pleased I made it and had a cracking time. Anyone else reading this should take a look/listen too. Nick played a superb set of soul music whilst we had a bit of fun in the chat room. Highly recommended - so take a look listen yersen on Tuesday night. Cheers Peter
  15. Bugger! Didn't see this. Will down load it later in the week. Peter
  16. Martyn There is a bit of a theme emerging! But, old man, don't worry, we'll look after you - and your old lady! LOL Peter
  17. Keeping with the 70's and a groover which oozes sould from every groove. The wonderful Mr Tyrone Edwards - Can't Get Enough of Your Love Lets be having yer! Class. Peter
  18. LP track from me to kick things off with - it's on a 45 too but I don't have that. Archie Bell and the Dells - Old People. Nice lryics. Peter
  19. No problem mate. We all have different tastes.
  20. Found this on tinternet. First played by Ian Levine at the Mecca as a US album track, it was almost tailor-made for the then newly opened Wigan Casino allnighter and rapidly became the No.1 instrumental in the country. (Naturally it was bootlegged not long afterwards!) UK Warner Bros. eventually released it c/w "Bubblegum Breakthrough", a previous Mike Post 45 that had been moderately popular in various Northern Soul clubs in 1973. Always thought it a horrible thing which has nothing to do with soul music.
  21. Beaten by my dirty box too Paul! You really must try harder. So why does that Ted Ford sound so familiar - do you know if it was a mainstream record? Peter
