  1. Someone must have said this already but..................Djs Playing For Themselves is surely preferable to Djs playing with themselves. Mm, perhaps not with a little hindsight. Peter
  2. D Kev, D. Not L Peter
  3. Dunno mate. As Pete says Ian D will probably know. Ian, Ian! Peter
  4. Oh really? Why did you ask what his name was then clever cloggs!!?? Peter
  5. I've watched the one with Darrow on - it's professional quality stuff. Chalky only gets the shakes once! Well worth a tenner - they're top draw. Well done Chalky - again. Peter
  6. 1969 I think Steve. I suspect I might not be totally correct! Peter
  7. Little Anthony in 1966 Peter
  8. Great tune Steve. Peter
  9. Mm, was thinking that myself mate - wouldn't mind a copy. There's one on discogs for £60. Peter
  10. This is a great example of how as young uns we might have thought that "our" so under valued and so unrecognised artists were one trick pony's. Clyde demolishes that theory single handedly with this great album alone - it's a good job we all started digging a bit deeper. Peter
  11. Just been to look for it and can't find it Rich - I don't think I've ever flipped it to be honest. Checked on discogs and the flip appears to be I Was Right - just played that and it's top drawer soul music too. I'll give this a spin in the record of the day thread/room. I must play my flips more! Cheers Rich Peter
  12. Stunning record for sure. Who else did this? Peter
  13. Pleased your on the mend fella. Take it easy and have a nice Christmas with the family. Peter
  14. Yep, the list goes on Rich. Main String was the first one that had me hooked - got a few of em in me box somewhere.
  15. Oscar has made some great records hasn't he. Main String, He Sent Me You, I Got What You Need etc. Great voice, great records - and what a cool name Oscar Perry! Peter
  16. I'd say Sam as well Rich. It's a great 60's northern soul record. Peter
  17. The blonde girl in the white tee shirt clasping her chest is, err fit. LOL peter
  18. Sounds great Mike - well done. It will probably take the pc slow folk such as mesen a while to get to grips with it but I'm looking forward to the challenge. Peter
  19. You are correct of course Len. It's all about opinion and as you say collectors "collect". I'm sure the buyer will be very excited that they've managed to nail a major "want" and I'm genuinely pleased for em - but it don't do owt for me. Peter
  20. I think it's one hell of a haunting, stunning record. Pure class in my view - it's got that spine tingling "something". Peter
  21. Wow, £8.5k for The Counts - I still don't like it. Peter
  22. Not read the entire thread so apologies if it's already been covered. I saw Eddie Holman at Hinckley Leisure Centre - that boy can sing! Apparently he does voluntary work with poor people in Philly. Peter
  23. I stand humbled and corrected Smiffy - well in so far as he is no longer with us. However, there are lots of references to Ral being an Elvis tribute act so I shall stand by that bit. Notwithstanding the fact that I really don't know the difference between a "copyist" and a tribute act - methinks your splitting hairs!
  24. Ral Donner has always been shit and will always be shit. He is still doing the rounds as an Elvis tribute act. Peter
