  1. Indeed - nice just to see one. Or a bit of one! Peter
  2. How much would you offer for the Blaster 45? Gotta be stacks of euros. Peter
  3. A bit over priced I reckon Jim. I guess it is Japan. Peter
  4. So a Monumental and a Philly Groove "issue" are out there? Alongside the mercury original 7 and 12. I listened to that Philly Groove one earlier on the gold mine site and it seemed the same as the original.
  5. Probably Chalky - perhaps Sam and a few others too. It's in my top ten modern sounds - easily. Peter
  6. Just played that Philly Groove one from the Goldmine site Chris - it sounds the same to me. Not sure about the release details - Right Track are legit though aren't they? Peter
  7. You're right Cunnie. It's vol 2 - they're both good and as you say are becoming quite pricey themselves. Peter
  8. I'd love one too! I have it on Keb Darge's brilliant Soul Spectrum compilation cd - the cd is worth it for that one track, but it's packed with goodies. It's Volume 2 Peter
  9. Think it had a 45 release too mate - Blaster Records. It's probably one of the best 80's releases in my book - fantastic record and it's a hard one. Think the LP will cost you well over a ton and the 45 more. But that's probably an outdated shout. Peter
  10. Bloody cheek Aid! That was one of my finest SS moments of 2012 - and you've bastardised it. Anyway, you spelt it wrong - it's Keyser Soze! Peter
  11. It's ok at first listening mate - would probably grow on me. I'm not sure some of those backing vocals add anything - in fact I don't like the way they've been done. But, hey, I'm no expert! Peter
  12. Emoticons old chap, emoticons! I would have thought a man who moves in your circles would have know that. LOL Peter
  13. Don't think Barry was using any tone really Bob - probably got lost across the Atlantic. I think it was an innocent enough question from someone who is trying to increase their knowledge about certain things - like most of us on here.
  14. You're a lucky lad! You're a good lad too. Have a great Christmas yersen. Peter
  15. Is that what you want? Cos that's what you'll facking get! Pikey lad. Peter
  16. I bought three of the Backbeat cd's recently - can't remember the titles. Two of them were compiled by Sean H - so I knew they'd have some good soul music on and the other was more of a well known sixties fest! I've enjoyed them all and added some new 45's to the collection which I didn't know of before I had the cd's. I'd recommend you pick em up. So, well done Mr D and Mr H. Peter
  17. Didn't it start off in a prison? The released inmates then hooking up together to form a band? Peter
  18. That is what I thought about the Grapevine releases Richard. I think there's a thread on here about Sir Dickie and John Anderson ans some of the grapevine stuff. Peter
  19. "I need to be educated about this" made me smile Barry. I'm no expert - there are plenty on here though, I think it's a mixture of both depending what is available. I suspect the master tapes are the best option. Like you, I'll be interested to see some replies from the likes of Ady C and others. Peter
  20. Happy Christmas everyone and my very best wishes for the New Year. Peter
  21. Just for clarity and I have flagged it to the moderators first - but, I was simply quoting what the thread starter had said in his post prior to mine which has gone unchecked. Using quotes to provide context and clarity is an altogether different matter in my book. It is something that decent newspapers find acceptable. I try to be considerate in the language I use on SS and to be quite frank I don't need to be told to get a grip by anybody - particularly in an open thread. It might have been better to pm me. Thanks rant over. Peter
