  1. Bless you Barry. Happy New Year bud. Seems like a thousand years! Peter
  2. Blimey - used to listen to this thinking 2001 sounded like something from space age times. And it's now almost 2013! Where have the years gone - have we spent them wisely. Personally, I've f*cked up big style. 2013 - gonna get myself together, sho nuff now together, you can bet your bottom dollar it's together. Peter
  3. What a sad story. I'm sorry to have learned of you and your families loss. I hope he surprises everyone and walks through a door someday. Peter

  10. Oh Pete, stop being so pedantic - you can be so contrary at times. I was merely stating that I have my personal list and some of those would be records that others didn't like too - I know we have quite a few in common. There I've spelled it out for you. Peter
  11. I've missed the boat on this thread cos it's too long now to check whats been said. I have my own personal list of dog turd records - I'm sure some have been posted. Johnny Come Lately P

  17. Greater Experience is a fabulous oldie - always loved it. Peter
  18. Of course people were dancing to plenty of shit - encouraged in the main by decent gear. Not everyone though eh, and too easy and to blame "the divs" .
  19. You can be argumentative Barry - just need to be clear about what we're arguing about. If anything. I just like good soul music - where ever it comes from, and by whom really. Old stuff, new stuff, retro stuff - if I can feel it it's good. Another example - bit old now, is the Chocolate Factory album. Is there a bad track on there - wonderful soul music, which I'm pleased to have bought and bought into at the time. Maybe a bad example for a more up to date geezer like yer sen. P
  20. LOL Yep, some bastrards gonna have to pay mate. I know exactly what you mean. We were fed some right shit at times - absolute shit. It's hard to define isn't it - but I like some more down tempo soul that would never have been played back in the day - stuff that if you have a feeling for is much more uptempo than is immmediately obvious. Does that make sense? Stuff that you can feel - and move your head to. Peter
  21. Happy Christmas Barry I think you are correct - in a very simple and pissed up context there has been northern soul and soul. Now I admit to being not well placed to know what has and hasn't been played over the years - due to my dropping out of attending all nighters and things generally. But I do have a view. And I think I know a good un when I hear it. To make it easier for back sliders like me sen - have you a few to get us started with? Peter
