  11. Yep, Sir Dickie was the man Dave. Good point about changing the name to add some credibility to the artist too. Peter

  15. I'm blushing at the thought Russ. Peter
  16. Yes, Len, feel and connect, with the music and each other. Our brothers and sisters. Peter
  17. The consumption of shed loads of gear also had a significant effect in terms of how we perceived our own dancing skills and the moves of others on the floor. I am obviously reminiscing. . Peter
  18. I'm with Andy on this one. The scene has had some great dancers, some good dancers, lots of average dancers and some shite dancers. Obviously, I was brilliant mesen. What sets the soul scene apart in my view is the love of the music - not some purist pursuit of perfect dance moves. As for the the "acro" or tricks as they used to be callled - I fecking hated all that shit, and was pleased when the majority of people knockeed it on the head. If I'm honest I was shit at "floor work" anyway. I am sure there will be many that disagree. Peter
  19. Best times musically for me buddy - loved to dancing. And I concur regarding Arthur and Sam - always been high on my list. Peter
  20. You win some you lose some Arthur. J D Jones is a nice enough record - and like you say you needed it at the time. Peter
  21. I reckon it was Sir Dickie Pete. A few others too not long after. It was a huge record and deservedly so. I used to sing a couple of odd lines at home at me mams over and over again. "Don't you know any other words to that bloody song" she used to shout. "No mam". Well it's driving me mad yer little bastard"! LOl Peter
  22. I'm afraid all I can offer is "You lucky bugger"! Have a great time buddy. Peter
  23. Swifty You know what happens when you get excited! Walking down Aswell Stree, the sky is blue the air is sweet. There's a guy called Pete.............................. You barsteward! LOL Peter
  24. Ay up Ali i agree they are both great sides but..........................Back in the day there was only one side I Need Love. Played along side some of the best 70's and 80's ever played. Peter
