  1. Wow! That's a 10 out of 10 review Mike, at least by the sound of it. I haven't been to the cinema since 1996! That was also when I last went on holiday. The film was The DaVinci Code - not great really, although I thought the book was excellent. Peter
  2. Mm, I'm not sure about that, unless of course you mean just 60's Davey. (I apologise if I've got your name wrong - I'm assuming that Davey is your first name - it's my second name!). I don't think he was into anything newer than very early 70's. I don't recall him ever playing anything other than big, well known 60's records. Peter
  3. Wow, that's a nice sum - into his estate. I don't think he had any children. It's more than I thought it would fetch, but what do I know. Thanks Russ. Peter
  4. Hi Eddie We are both well, thank you. I hope all is well with you and yours. From memory, and I was very young at that time (), I certainly think he was collecting and had some records. I also think that he was dj'ing too, although not headlining anywhere. The purchase of Nev's collection would have been a significant addition. I'm really happy to be corrected on any of that but he was certainly known at the time. All the best my friend, I hope you have a good week. Peter Thanks for everyone's contributions so far; I don't want to run out of likes! Peter
  5. I was discussing TC with my friend Preacher Man; real name Paul, he's a retired pastor, last Wednesday. Anyway, probably done before, but does anyone know what happened to his record collection? There must have been some decent stuff in there as, as we all know he bought Nev's collection. Thanks Peter
  6. Interesting thread. I would never have guessed (I'm not sure why), that Eddie was even on 77. I'm interested to see the final verdict. Peter
  7. Great stuff, thanks Karl. You always come up with the goods. I hope you're all well mate. Peter
  8. Here are a couple from me - just with my phone at home; I still don't leave the house very much due to my mentalist issues. As always, they're not fantastic. Someone bought me a Amaryllis plant for Christmas - I've never seen or grown one before. Anyway, it's quite a magnificent flower when in bloom.
  9. Great pictures again Andy, thank you for sharing. The first one would grace any lovely collection or postcard for the area - fantastic shot. I hope you're all well my friend. Peter
  10. No idea who it is; it's a lovely track though. Peter
  11. Mm, I haven't seen that Simon. I'll check it out, Mad's is only in the first one isn't he - I'm guessing he's not in the third. Have you seen Bullhead too?
  12. Hi All I've a couple of films to recommend. Two of them have my favourite Danish actor in - he's in a few big movies these days. All three of these films are quite dark, violent, but in line with the bleak story lines. If you're into worldwide viewing, and like dark thrillers, then I think you'll like these. Mads Mikkelsons' debut film - "Pusher". There is also a "Pusher 2". Then over to Belgium for "Bullhead". I'd rate at least two of these in my top fifty films. Over to you guys; I'm on the lookout for recommendations too. Happy Easter everyone. Peter
  13. Thanks for this Mike; it's really interesting. Peter
  14. Hi Eddie I hope all is well with you Sir. I concur with your last sentence. Best. Peter
  15. Well in all my years I would never have known that was Dave Withers.
  16. But whose the geezer on the show? Does anyone know who he was? Was he shoe horned in?
  17. Hi Steve Yes mate, I stand corrected, I always get my Tyrone's mixed up and that one. I hope you're well mate. Peter
  18. Hi Simon You just made me watch that again! I don't know the answer to your questions; other than I'm pretty certain it wasn't the beginning of the end. Another question, and I might have known this at one point but forgotten; who was the geezer who was the main protagonist? Blue jumper and white shirt? Peter
  19. Welcome to the site Mr Boooooogaloooooodude. May the Soul Source be with you. Peter
  20. Somewhere, I have a carrier bag of old home made recordings on cassette tape. If I can find them - and there's absolutely no guarantee of that, I will gladly package them up and send them to you; I wouldn't want any thing for them. I'll have a dig through my old junk room at the weekend. Peter
  21. There's a member on Soul Source who made loads of live all niter cassette tape recordings back in the day. He seemed inseparable from his fantastic twin deck monster recording machine as I regularly eyed him from the dancefloor at many all niters. I will leave it to them to reveal themselves if they so wish. Peter
  22. Mm, for a while at primary school I was nicknamed Decimal Davey (Davey being my surname), as the switch to decimal was the 15th February 1971. My birthday being the 15th Feb. I was known as a lot of other names over the years but that is for a completely different thread. I hope you're well Rick. Peter
  23. In the absence of any new posts I will try and post this. The same health warning which comes with all of my photo's and posts on this thread; none of them can match the quality of our more skilful contributors. Peter WhatsApp Video 2024-03-04 at 01.47.40_7e8a5b20.mp4
  24. Cracking work Chalky - you're the man. There's Arin Demain on one of the sales list - wow. Great read and just on issue 1. Thanks for doing this mate, a labour of love, you're one of the members on here that helps keep the site rolling. A big round of applause everyone for Mr Chalkmeister. Peter
