  1. You bugger! Is it your van though? I would have thought you would have had the Saint Andrews Cross on your bumper if it was yours. It's a nice van. Peter
  2. Is that a joke Richard? That's not me you're referring to if it isn't a joke - I just followed behind you for a bit trying to read the smaller writing on the left side back of the camper van. What does that say - I could read "minute" and maybe "holiday"? I can assure you that I was most courteous in my driving. I wouldn't road rage a fellow souler! Peter
  3. Was driving to Loughborough and to work this morning. Got behind a while camper type van towing a trailer. The trailer had a bull dogs head design on it and the spare wheel cover on the camper van had northern soul and the famous fist design on it. The bonnnet of the camper van has a union jack on it. Anyone know who it belongs to - just curious to know if I know them from SS or elsewhere. I didn't recognise the driver. Peter
  4. Yep, I often play it at work. Love the drums etc. Peter
  5. Great record by the way. Peter
  6. Grrr! You beat me to it Chalkmeister! Peter
  7. Hi Andy No. Here you go buddy. https://www.60sgaragebands.com/detroitsoul.html Peter
  8. Seen the Barry White programme before I think. If it's the one filmed in the 70's its fantastic - a real close up show. Peter
  9. So, in a nut shell, the consensus - albeit it a small one, is that we've already done this to death and the only person who obviously likes to repeat himself is ...............................................................Peter. He's got a lot to answer for that lad. P
  10. Now then Bearsy Hope yer well fella. Two of my best all niters were Clifton Hall at Rotherham - brilliant music, brilliant crowd and we always made a weekend of it. Cleethorpes Winter Gardens - under Steve Crofts stewardship. Again, just the right time for me - music, crowd etc. Loads of others of course - but they're my top two. Peter
  11. It's only 12 euros though Ian - and nearly a minter. Peter
  12. I don't know why but I'm quite surprised at £3k. As has been said it's a nice record. Peter
  13. I'm quite happy to vouch for Rod on that one. Peter
  14. Peter
  15. I've just released a whole new set of cd's under the Backbeats banner. Sorry Ian, couldn't resist than one. Peter
  16. I get mixed up with stuff like this Pete. So, it's just a very limited run to produce a few copies which could be sold at gigs - is that right? Peter
  17. I belatedly concur - very nice indeed. Peter
  18. Apparently not! Peter
  19. Of course it does mate. Good lad. I'm gonna dig out Greg Perry in a minute and blast that out on me techinics! Peter
  20. Hi Gogs Nice set buddy. Worthy of more than one dancer! I'm sure many others apppreciated the records - they just hadn't found their dancing feet. Peter
  21. Hi Liam It's not for me matey. More of a bluesey/RnB type thing to my - admittedly deaf, ears! Peter
  22. That's a very good point Martin. Technically it's known as 'passing off' but let's say you're the Del Capris who sang "Hey Little Girl" and suddenly you're confronted with a legitimate release that credits you as the artist on a different song by a different group, then that would probably be a real pisser. That was probably Richard being cute with the cover-up name because of the similarity in the titles. Plus think about the poor buggers in the Construction too. They make one record and by a fluke of fate it goes big in the UK and then they find that they're gonna be known as Del Capris in future! In fact, even Discogs has 'em both listed as the same act which kinda underlines my point:- https://www.discogs.com/artist/Del+Capris,+The#t=Releases_Singles-EPs&q=&p=1 Bah! Talk about confusing. Who has the bloody time to spend unravelling this stuff.....? Ian D :hypo: Peter
  23. What a lovely post. Nice one Rich. Peter
  24. He's another one of those artists that was off my radar for years - due to my oft admitted, ridiculous "rare soul snobbery". What a voice! Peter
