  1. Isn't there another thread about this somewhere? Or did I just see the record on a sales list. Peter
  2. Never mind the bollox. Peter
  3. Heard Bully play this on a radion show - think he was on with Mr H. Got it down loaded on a podcast somewhere. It's a sublime soul record. Peter
  4. Speak for yersen you cheeky bastard! Peter
  5. Do I get a prize? Well done Mike and everyone - and me! Peter
  6. Interesting thread for sure. Surprised that no one has said whether they like it or not - I guess it's more of a high brow thread than that. I like it - I think it's a very credible and soulful take. Peter
  7. Me straight jacket must still be round me ankle Dave - I don't know about that stuff, just the well known chart stuff which still had a bit of soul. In hindsight when I first started out I was definitely shackled up - didn't listen to anything which wasn't soul. Probably right through to the 90's - missed loads of stuff. But hey ho - I'm still discovering loads of soul music which is new to me. Everyday - so I don't feel hard done by.
  8. Moi - northern soul straight jacket? Not me Dave! Just been googling them and could see the Hall and Oates connection. Yep, they were churning out some decent stuff in the early 80's too. "I can't go for that" rings a bell from memory.
  9. Cheers Simon It appears that James was originally the key board player and then became the lead singer when the band reorganised themselves. Peter
  10. He's a hippie! I'm assuming that this particular James Walsh Gypsy Band is the American rock band? There is also a different British group of the same name. Although looking at the discography that isn't apparent. Peter
  11. It's a record I've always liked - always struck me as an odd un but I don't know why. Who, is, James Walsh? Did he do anything else of note? Peter
  12. That's fair enough. But, the soul scene has had it's fair share of crooks over the years - some seriously crooked ones at that. Peter
  13. Is this it half a job? Peter
  14. Err, a link perhaps?
  15. Some interesting posts.......................... Kettle black and all that jazz, err soul. Peter
  16. Thanks Rich. Top of the evening to you Sir. Peter
  17. Don't know too much about 12's apart from the well known stuff. I used to like this though. Teena Marie - Portuguese Love https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-7MJXRIqU7E Peter
  18. I'm having a dance to this bugger. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vHaBZsAyhGE Peter
  19. Ay up mate. Yep, you're right - I don't think half of what has been posted is necessarily disco - I did ask the question! I guess the ones I posted I posted because of their release date - and just an excuse to air some nice records. Peter
  20. Atlantic Starr - Circles https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZqtQhnAzr7g Is this disco? What the fcuk is disco? It's disco-ish. This was a big un for a while. Peter
  21. Love lots of Evelyn King stuff Tony - love come down is cracking. Peter
