  1. There's already a thread about this Chris. Can the mods merge please? Peter
  2. Hi Dave 1980 release methinks. Lovely record - right up my street. Show Me was the b side. The flip is One Down You To Go - a killer ballad. Peter
  3. Brilliant mate, thanks for sharing that. A fantastic artist - one of the best in my opinion, a super vocalist. He's buried in the same cemetery as my dear mum - I can imagine his voice whispering through the trees, down the hilly cemetery. Me mum would like that. Peter
  4. This is a rather daft question - but who did actually perform on the Love You Baby record? Peter
  5. Yes of course you're right. Never seen a demo mesen - but that don't mean owt. P
  6. Isn't the UK release on London - black label? The burgundy/red release in on Turbo and is US. I could be wrong. £50? Peter
  7. Why would Johnny do that? Trade secrets or summat? Probably non of my business.
  8. I'm sure there's plenty Mal. What a great artist he is too - bought a few bits by him recently. Peter
  9. Isn't there another thread about this somewhere? Or did I just see the record on a sales list. Peter
  10. Heard Bully play this on a radion show - think he was on with Mr H. Got it down loaded on a podcast somewhere. It's a sublime soul record. Peter
  11. Do I get a prize? Well done Mike and everyone - and me! Peter
  12. Interesting thread for sure. Surprised that no one has said whether they like it or not - I guess it's more of a high brow thread than that. I like it - I think it's a very credible and soulful take. Peter
  13. Me straight jacket must still be round me ankle Dave - I don't know about that stuff, just the well known chart stuff which still had a bit of soul. In hindsight when I first started out I was definitely shackled up - didn't listen to anything which wasn't soul. Probably right through to the 90's - missed loads of stuff. But hey ho - I'm still discovering loads of soul music which is new to me. Everyday - so I don't feel hard done by.
  14. Moi - northern soul straight jacket? Not me Dave! Just been googling them and could see the Hall and Oates connection. Yep, they were churning out some decent stuff in the early 80's too. "I can't go for that" rings a bell from memory.
