  1. I will concur with the honourable gentleman from Lincolnshire. Great record. Peter
  2. Probably well known but I'm going to post it anyway - super, super soul music from that brilliant Hi label from Memphis. Quiet Elegance - I'm Afraid of Losing You Peter https://youtu.be/89e5k3TSGZ8
  3. Nice pick Kieran From the pens of Bobby Womack and Jerry Butler. Got a version of this by Al Perkins which I think is the first one - I could be wrong. Mr Deep Dave T will put me right if I am. Peter
  4. The Chimes - Beginning Of My Life The Hesitations - Is That The Way To Treat A Girl The Lovelites - This Love Is Real Joe Simon - Georgia Blues Chuck Armstrong - How Sweet It Is Just five of a load of stuff from my home sets. Mid tempo all the way for me. Peter
  5. Mr Barnyfather always likes to swing his pants behind the decks. He's always inspired me. Peter
  6. Another personal choice for me - has this been hammered? I don't know but its a cracking soul record imo. Jackson Sisters - Shake Her Loose https://youtu.be/bpub911eSWU
  7. Good to see everything is back on track. Peter
  8. Yep, Henry A is great. Bought a few bits from him recently - off here, from his email list and from Discogs too. P
  9. Evening Bri Nope never noticed the difference - not even sure if I knew there were two versions. The differences are huge - they must be if I can notice them! I'm pretty sure I have the "regular" one - might have to go and check though! It's a class soul record in my book - one of those that should cost more me thinks. Peter
  10. Come on Steve - get off that fence! Peter
  11. Hi Sean Yep, this is a cracker. Heard you spin this on some show or another! Hope yer well matey. Peter
  12. That isn't true. You clearly misunderstood what that thread(s) is/was about. If you want to try and score petty points then at least try and get your facts straight. Peter
  13. The Lovelites My Baby Loves Me Worth a spin I reckon. Peter
  14. Happy New Year Sean and Andy Hey Andy you've spun that Sonny Holly track for me before on here - I really like it. Peter
  15. Err, another shit looking fecking boot.
  16. There's reissues and reissues though aren't there Pete. I sent him a question asking whether in this case his definition of a reissue was an illegal counterfeit. I am yet to receive a reply. I'm pretty certain that some people will think it's an original as you say caveat emptor - perhaps, but I always think in cases like this that sellers should be less disingenuous. Nowt wrong with being totally upfront is there? Unless of course you are setting out to con people. Peter
  17. It's been sat there a while too - go on Flanny, make his day and knock him down five big ones! Hope you get one mate it's a corker. Peter
  18. Happy New Year everyone. Thanks to everyone who helps make the site what it is - obviously including Mike and the Mods. Peter
  19. Hi George Mel Williams - what a record! Soul music doesn't get too much better than that mate. Peter
  20. Nice one Gilly. Good taste always outshines money. Peter Edit - Always reminds me of this Gilly, or tuther way round. https://youtu.be/8nVnDTh7h_M
  21. Context obviously plays a part. I would suggest though that sycophantism and a good bit of back slapping plays a bigger part. As I said before one mans inspiration is another man being a cnut.
  22. The version from Occasional Rain is easily the best one. Peter
