  1. Hi Mate I think I paid £15 for mine. Pete Edit - Looks like Ricky beat me to it!
  2. I'm in and functioning with some limitations - that must bode well for everyone else!¬
  3. It's one of those records that I define as being a Traditional Northern Soul record. Proper isn't it.
  4. Thanks Mike Emailed meself, written it on the fridge and sent meself a text. Fingers crossed but still a tad worried. It's like 2000 all over again. Peter
  5. It will fetch good money - and rightly so. It's a stunning soul record.
  6. Yep. I've got one somewhere. Great record. Peter
  7. Yep, that sounds more realistic!
  8. Hi Old Timer Hope yer well Martyn. Didn't I have a hand in that one? As a bit of an aside I don't think I really like any instrumentals - never really understood em. I'm sure someone will soon put one up to make me change my mind. Peter
  9. Absolutely love the raw, innocent, girly vocals on this. Peter
  10. Trad North Proper.
  11. Northern Soul 3! There's 4 on the playlist. Nice one Steve - as usual there'll be stuff on there that's new to me. I'll have a listen later. Thanks for posting. Pete
  12. Yep, concur with my very learned friend Kev. Great stuff Rob. Thanks Peter
  13. Hi All Been truly smitten with this! Has anyone got one for sale? PM with price and condition - assuming in my budget soul range! Thanks Peter
  14. Probably run its natural cause so I'll close it now. Thanks everyone for your posts/comments. Peter
  15. Both brilliant sides mate.
  16. Asked this in another thread following Chris's post. May be a daft question but is this Pookie Hudson? Fantastic record anyway. https://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=DfRsHMm_oCg Peter
  17. Awesome Chris. Is it Pookie Hudson?
  18. It's orrible! But there are a couple here - https://www.discogs.com/sell/release/5115190?ev=rb Peter
  19. Nice on Steve. Billy and Otis - Peter
  20. Now you are pissed! I always like to use the term obscure soul as when I try and explain to people they say "oh, that Motown stuff". Nowt wrong with Motown I guess but that isn't what I like. If you get my drift. Obscure soul could be interpreted as a bit poncy and pretentious I guess. Nice
  21. The yellow ones look really nice - a thing of beauty. Peter
  22. You mean muddled! And you've not even finished your first bottle of Rioja!
  23. Love all the lyrics of Mr Bojangles - and Nina is Queen. "He danced for those at minstrel shows and county fairs throughout the south He spoke with tears of 15 years of how his dog and him but just travelled all about His dog up and died, he up and died, and after 20 years he still grieves Mr Bojangles, Mr Bojangles, dance. Simply beautiful. https://youtu.be/eAW3y5l6Dm4
  24. As I said at the beginning of the thread I wasn't really intending to comment on the actual event - rather what the two geezers had to say etc. And to see if anyone knew them - just out of interest. I live in Nottingham so it may have been of more interest to me but the thread has generated some discussion.
  25. I don't think anyone has suggested that anyone is being mislead.
