  1. If memory serves, I think the Goldspot take and the GAR take are the same, different title on Record tho', Lord What's Happened / Lord What's Happening to Your People on Goldspot / GAR. I don't know about this extended vocal take, or how to spot without listening. Does anyone know if there's a different TIME: printed on the extended vocal version. Please tell me this isn't all in imagination!!
  2. At Last nights Attic Rob Wigley played the extended version of Kenny Smith - Lord What's Happening To Your People, the version with the extended vocal fade out at the end. I saw this was a GAR issue. Are all longer versions on GAR issue? Is there any identifying feature (apart from listening to it) to set this version aside from others. By the way Rob, good play, hadn't heard the longer vocal played for a long time. Thanks for any info. Dean.
  3. Seller didn't do him/herself any favours. I saw 3 that interested me and didn't notice $8 in description. Clicked on see all details at side of postage info and still read $53.95. That could be a lesson for me to read more detail, or maybe got of light . . . which would be binding I wonder? Dean
  4. I know this is repeating the obvious but . . . . . . . . . . Fantastic Pete. You've put a lot of time and effort into making this work and getting the result. You should be very proud of what you've done on here. Best wishes to you and your family, and here's hoping Johnny has a better 2010. Dean
  5. Johnny - only out of concern, can you post to let us know if all's well following the hearing. Hope to see you around. Brilliant Pete
  6. Pete, is it better to send paypal as a gift to avoid costs, I'm afraid I don't know how that's done, any advice? Dean
  7. True to yourself . . . . . . an art born out of maturity, not necessarily age: From Keates When old age shall this generation waste Thou shalt remain, in midst of other woe than ours A friend to a man, to whom thou say'st, "Beauty is truth, truth beauty, - that is all Ye know on earth, and all and all ye need to know". He was talking about a grecian urn, but it applies very well to vinyl. True to yourself? True to a scene you enjoy . . . . . . ovo, beautiful . . . . . . .true.
  8. Hi Mak - seriously, I've got £15 for Kim Tolliver, get to the next Attic, I'll pay you in and get your first beer too + £15 for the record - deal? Dean. Happy Christmas mate.
  9. got the message Pete, thanks for response, didn't want to respond by message as I imagine you have a lot when you have a list up. (will remember not to phone late!!) Best wishes.
  10. Thanks Dave, happy to be corrected. I think at the time we were flooded by so may "boots" I made presumptions some were that weren't.
  11. I still think that's a "boot", but it is arguable, and I'm only basing it upon seeming to recall seeing lots of these around at the same time. My memory isn't too reliable though. Wouldn't the OVO be Grapevine (GRP 103)? Intersting point.
  12. Didn't track it but did John Manship auction have one on a few week ago? What did that go for? You got a reserve price MB (no need to answer if you prefer not to)
  13. 'kinel, Mark, that is something. Must make you proud. Bets wishes, Dean

    you sexy sugar plum
  15. I bow to your knowledge pete but always thought the issue of Ten to One was a bit hard to get and worth more than 60, perhaps I'm getting it mixed up. Dean
  16. Jump on mate, that's what it's on here for. The description Labels -- Both sides have dj marks, otherwise clean. was what had me laughing, but I think you pose a really good question. The older, and grumpier I get (taking lessons from SteveL) the more I'm of the opinion that it's better for the longevity of appreciation, and for respect to other collectors, to live with increasing rarity rather than use technology to reproduce something that decreases rarity. That's just a personal opinion, but one that leads me to annoyance and frustration when you see some of the fakes being touted. But it's a good point. I wouldn't buy this, but if I did and someone offered my a copy label would I be tempted? I guess I would to see what the record would look like in its prime, I just wouldn't be able to fix it firmly for fear of future con. In other rare mediums (painting, furniture etc) I would think it's quite usual to "repair" and improve appearance of original articles without them being declared fake. I think the intention to deceive or not is an important one, as well as responsibility for future owners deceiving.
  17. Interesting item. There's a hole in my SOUL label collection where this should be. Never issued on S35009 All For You / Too Many Fish In The Sea. Before JM changed his website he had a price against a S35009 demo (but not available) of £1000. Never seen one . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . Anybody
  18. For a short while I go to pieces was the fourth before 8. Have to agree with the sentiment of the emotion of those 3 tho'. Not the best northern soul records by some way but, still think Tobi Legend a perfect ender, happy to be played as the flames lick my coffin.
  19. Condition: Graded at VG+ (Very Good Plus) Condition Labels -- Both sides have dj marks, otherwise clean. Vinyl is Clean with some light (non feel-able) surface marks. Plays nice and VG+ with some minimal surface noise heard. Plays very nicely!!
  20. Bring on the clowns
  21. https://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=140358379504&ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT side 1 = Betty O'Brien - she'll be gone side 2 = Marie Knight - come tomorrow STARDUST Records *** this is a Stardust release with a photo-copied label pasted on the Betty O'Brien side *** I personally really dislike this sort of label manipulation, don't see the point, just who are you fooling? BUT seller clearly states what this is in bold letters - sells for £46 . Why? Don't get it, don't want to get it.
  22. A recent find that was part of a 60's DJ collection is this acetate 45. It has no labels but after some investigation it turned out to be the MEL BRITT monster rare USA northern soul 'FIP' A-side "She'll Come Running Back". Part of a 60's DJ collection- do you think so? Same as above post says Sam Ambrose on flip would indicate a more recent copy of 2 sides. can't imagine those two sides ending up together any other way. Deceiving description I think.
  23. good shout, unknown to my limited ears. Played by anyone out? Imagining it with big volume in a dark room
  24. Thanks for posting Barry. Proper uplifting, goosebumps and tears. Gonna hug my daughter now.
  25. Pasted link into windows explorer and it worked ok. Not a lot there at the moment. Graphics are nice and sharp. Left a comment on one of the top ten to play along, will see how it develops. Good luck - what do see it offering, anyhting different or new? Not being critical, genuine question.
