  1. £100 -£120 for authentic Decca demo or issue depending on VG+ to Ex or better
  2. Orig DJ George Kirby - What Can I Do / Good Night Irene (CADET ) 3 turn run out, deadwax Omega sign (at 8-O-Clock), 2-5 (at 7-O-Clock), 14220 (at 5-O-Clock). Clear clean label print (see photo) Grade at conservative VG++, very slight minor warp (est 1mm) only noticeable on turntable, not detectable in hand. Not affecting play, plays through strong and clear all the way. £300 by PayPal including signed for postage.
  3. Looking for an audition or dj twin globe Tamla, Miracles You really got a Hold on Me, £15-£20 depending upon condition, prefer to pay £20! Thanks, Dean.
  4. Makes you wonder what the record is fora record lost in post and turning up?
  5. Always sang in my head - I love this life this life I love. Without ever thinking to check it. Dpon't hink i'll be able to change now but thanks Mike.
  6. Looking for a quick sale for funding a couple of bits finishing on eBay tonight. Ellen & The Shandels - Gypsy / Try a little tenderness. Label very clean Ex- both sides, record does have a couple of minor lines that cause a couple of ticks as it plays through in parts. Main body of record is clean but the few marks bring the grade down. would grade at VG , tried to photo to show marks. £250 inlclusive of postage. Friendly PayPal.
  7. Thanks for that Chalky, superb pack of photos.
  8. Thanks for posting that picture Rob, fantastic. Given it's for Jukebox use I'm surprised by the small spindle centre?
  9. I didn't know that Rob, you're a genuine encyclopedia! Anyone got a pic of that EP? Thanks Rob.
  10. What would be a good (top) price for this UK only tune. Price suggestions for demo and issue please. Both VG+ to VG++ under strong light. I think JM auctioned an issue last year (maybe longer) but can't recall. Thanks in anticipation of help. Dean.
  11. Apologies if too similar to SoulSource Record club, but was just contemplating my personal favourite purchase of 2016? Hard to do one. Not the most expensive, not the cheapest deal, all things considered what's in your box now that wasn't on 1st Jan, that you return to with a grin. Just one. I'm going for this purchased off Mick Donnelly, I missed one from Manships Friday drop down auction a while ago, not realising how scarce. BRIGGETTE KOBERLY on naptown.
  12. Nottingham Palais all-nighter, 1975, (to be honest not sure if it was 74 or 75), So Is The Sun. Remember being mesmerised by the dancing , which was a whole new ball game to the youth club shananigens previously experienced and practiced. Felt out of my league by a long way. Second strong record memory was Idle Few People That's Why, but the memory plays tricks. Sad thing is several young promising 16 year olds I was with that night are dead now.
  13. Only just seen this, I had a pile parcelled up ready to go to him, sent him a message (thankfully politely) to ask if he'd changed his mind on the deal. Hard to believe we were joking about prices just a week or so ago. Said he'd spent too much on records at the weekender. A great gent of the scene, knowledgable, considerate, a great loss too early. Condolences to his family and close friends.
  14. History passing! Thanks for posting Andy, just re-read the Shrine notes. Great detail. RIP a giant of our music.
  15. 26 Bobby diamond put onto eBay Monday night, been sorting a pile of about 30 or 40 boots reissues for eBay. These are in pile to go on. Genuinely don't know price of these these days, make what you consider a reasonable offer or check on eBay later this week.
  16. You're right Paul, probably guilty of over stated simplicity for the point of the topic. I'm sure I recall some Saturday nighters towards the end when Ms didn't open because of low attendance. Well done for attending all the last nights. My ridiculous snobbery has been a millstone. I now wish I'd have gone to the last, just didn't believe it was. Also wish I'd gone when the cameras were in but I stupidly 'boycotted' , as if that had any impact!
  17. On the theme of re-imagining, particularly Wigan, I think the greatest way forward for the Casino was to close. The way it closed was a mess, so many final last nights! In my mind many regulars had already become disillusioned with the Casino in the run up to closure. Saturday nights were attended mostly to hear Searling's spot and were frequently half empty. The oldies Fridays and other interval Oldies revisited nights were popular, perhaps a taste of what was to come regarding standard fancy dress oldies nights/rooms V's rare nights / rooms. Most people I knew couldn't be bothered to go to the 'definitely the last one' nights. Perhaps Wigan would have faded and not been so fondly remembered if it had lingered. I'm not Casino bashing, had some of the best nights of life in that hall, but by the end it was only Searling that kept interest alive for me.
  18. Yep, that was the one Nev. odd thing is there must have been 2 people who wanted it for £150 to go for £155!! I swear I described it ok.
  19. I was embarrassed to sell a second issue for over £100 over a year ago. Described it accurately as second issue with supporting photo. Sold it because I'd picked up orig issue for £10. Enjoy the craziness,
  20. We did speak at Cornerhouse but not that particular conversation. Will reintroduce myself at the next one before I've had too much beer. Got an old brochure from when Sawn was as hotel somewhere, see if I can find it out.
  21. Jeeeze this topic makes me feel young!! Most names I was (and still am in Studges case) scared of as a kid. You were a scary lot! Good to have Bet Jameson bought to mind, that face had slipped from my memory. Anyone been to Dave Kettle's Thai restaurant, Emma's in Ilkeston? Keep meaning to go. Hopefully see some at Cornerhouse 30 Oct.
  22. Apologies Mike, removed name and address from this thread (but sticking to crooked allegation)
