  1. Classic LP that I really rate. Picked up a white promo copy cheap from ebay the other week. I was wondering how scarce these were? Also is there any logic to Motown's frequent use of the term "Audition Copy" as opposed to promotion / rado staion?
  2. Not sure if this is what you were meaning but heard on the radio the other day Staple Singers - If You're Ready (Come Go With Me), never thought this a "northern" tune but with changing tastes over years thought it sounded great, all be it a very available chart tune.
  3. Shall I post 2 to Club Caliente Russ, must get down again. Let me have postal address if the need takes you
  4. You'll end up with a bag full TED, we'll all give you one (Matron!!)
  5. Presume your talking about cheesy grins here. Glad you've still got it Mick
  6. Seriously Mark, that first spot you did at The Attic was the one that lifted us out of a "for mates" mentality to take our own night a little more seriously . . . . . .we'll never forgive you. It was also the start of the policy of only original will do. We will find you so make it easy and pm your address
  7. Very worried I'm entering into naff tat territory but here goes, hopefully not. Just a year ago we put the ATTIC to bed for a while, at The Black Bull, Mansfield. To help remember some great nights playing soul music to discerning ears we've got a few, very limited, collectable, high quality OBO (Original Badge Only) small lapel badges to thank the DJs who helped drive that night forward. It's not optional, if you DJ'd we will catch up with you . . . . . a little like pasing you the black spot. Started the hand-out at Bentinck Back Room night last night. If you think we may not see you for a while (Kev and Steve are about much more than me, and Garry can't be trusted with anything sharp) pm me a postal address and I'll get one off to you and keep tabs on who's had one of these (future) valuable items. Unlike last night I'll try not to be duped by claims of "I did an early spot" . . . . you know who you are - but you did carry enough boxes. Photo took some doing, they're on the small side.
  8. Photo acurate. Some label fading and lots of light scuffs. Nothing deep and plays well. Just drop a line if you want it, Dean
  9. Think I've got a spare that £10 + £1.50 postage will secure. As I recall it's VG+ rather than EX (hence £10). Will look when I'm home, although boxes are at different locations at moment - I think i know where to lay my hands on it. Let me know if interested, feel free to take up other offers if I'm slow getting back. Dean
  10. Have you played me this recently Kev? I was watching this one on ebay last week (could be two week ago now) and forgot to get back to it in time. Went for $29.99 to the only bidder, which unfortunately wasn't me. I couldn't place my interest in it, but knew I was. I'll now blame you for my disappointment
  11. Gave this a play out once and got a little deck peeping. Worth looking up in my opinion, should be cheap.
  12. 316 b/w The Mule (Inst)
  13. Ok here's another then, an old old play that still sounds good. Aint That The Truth
  14. Will try to make this my last, hogging this thread a bit . . .
  15. Couple of label variations (all be it a stained one) of Roadrunner Issue:
  16. Don't think this is at all rare, but the correct and mis-splelt Cleo's Back
  17. Some to enjoy at home, but non-the-less soulful. The 4 set pic later and much funkier but good for when you fancy a change. Way Back Home; "Walk In The Night"; I'm So Glad; Peace and Understanding; Hard Love; Dancin' Like They Do On Soul Train
  18. 3 more well known, Come See About Me with the old Chips sticker on.
  19. Just about as dirty gritty as you could want to get.
  20. Only got DJ box here at moment, got some nice pic covers elsewhere, will see if I get time to look them out. Meantime: Got this signed on sleeve on stage at Wigan, almost fell across stage tripping on wires and falling into Jr. He looked at the lanky English kid and said "Where did you get this?" Think I've got a C90 tape of that gig somewhere. Still an all-time fav
  21. Following a previous moaning thread about $35.55 post and packing for a 45 from musicman59 ( ). Purchased 25 April, arrived today 28 June. Packed in a 12" LP package (not that unusual in itself), postage on package is $24.68 . . . . but check the packing inside. Not going to get this record out without tearing the label I think. Could try steaming it a little perhaps. It's a heavy duty adhesive on the tape. I think I must have annoyed him when I questionned the $35.55 postage! Seller is A. Press, 152 N. Edgewood St, Ph. PA. 13139
  22. Enjoyed it Winnie, but made me a little sad. I do genuinely think the planet's a sadder place without that crooked grin. Looked at BBC iPlayer this morning as I was thinking of posting a link but but BBC4 iplayer said it wasn't available, was about the only BBC4 programmes form last night that wasn't . . . . . . . Although the guilty pleasures of ancient greece is looking tempting.
