  1. Starting to get a little notice. £150 in guide but not available via that guide. Once I Had a love is £75 in similar guide, picked this up at Prestatyn for £40. Think 'I've Enjoyed being Loved By You' is scarcer and better. I would price my spare at £80, from pms Leev paid less. Not sure of relative price difference issue/demo, I've got 2 demos but not had an issue?
  2. Just a quick one: I know there's been a couple of threads around the Tempests LP recently, apologies if I've missed this info on those threads. Is there much of a difference in the collectability / value between the Mono and the Stereo issues of this LP. Deciding which to keep. Thanks, Dean.
  3. Mmmmmmm let me think Spaniels for £111 or Gene McDaniels (British) at £96 Tough call!!!
  4. Jees this is good. Put 50 onto vinyl DJ copies and get em out to discerning DJs?

Edwin Starr at wigan 78, took pic back next time to get it signed by him
  7. Forgot about the blue/gold ones Pete, that included the Velours I'm Gonna Change if memeory serves, struggling to remember others?
  8. Big Surprise is on the Athena LP 6002, The Jaedes, not aware of a 45 release. The same Lp has What'll It Take to Make You Happy, which is a wonderful track.
  9. Interetsing thread Steve, and hope I'm not reducing to it to a simple "boots" point, but the second issue / reissue nature of Columbia Special Products rosta got me thinking. The MGM SP's were boots weren't they? Or are they more complicated than that. I could never understand the Special Product motif, but was glad it was there as a clear identifier for those of us not so well informed at the time.
  10. That smacks of the truth. (just edited a rant there). My son worked for a while in an office supplies in Mansfield, where a well known record collector regularly took records in to have labels copied back and front in high resolution. I wonder why?

  12. I have Mona Lisa - They Don't Know PT. I / PT. II on a very clean EX Dade demo. £65 + postage. I would grade vinyl at M-, label as Ex as it's a white demo it has the slightest k at raised edge of label. can post a pic if you want me to. Just pm or post if interested. Dean Just out of interest is Lonnie Lester scarcer without the Chuck Dancy credit? Mine is simply Lonnie Lester and don't see that many single credit?
  13. I paid £100 for a much poorer looking one (issue) although plays well. I don't think that the fact it sits in a sales box at £150 means that much regarding what it would go for on-line to a wider market (no disrespect to poster at all). Given condition Pete I think you would easily land £200. Ex+ records are becoming increasingly difficult and with the HM customs charges biting buying habits from the US UK sales are looking more tempting. I'm not doing my pal SteveL any favours here, I vaguely remembering him mentioning to me he wanted one but he will only purchase Ex/Ex+/Mint. PM him if you want to Pete.
  14. So many would fit the bill, but avoiding obscure and going for obvious (but bloody brilliant): The Supremes - Nathan Jones Temptations - (Loneliness made me realize) It's you that I need Most of the Four Tops classics but in particular - Do What you Gotta Do, also Ask the Lonely and currently taking up residence on a deck near me Bobby Womack - Across 110th Street posting that has prompted me to get those together on ipod and play them on a loop as soon as spring arrives!
  15. got a ex clean Bunny Sigler For Cryin Out Loud. It's a Decca issue though (much rarer than demo) so would be asking £200
  16. I have a VG++ label /Ex Vinyl Black & White Promo of JUNION McCants - The boy needs a girl - KING 45-6076, wasn't looking to sell but feel free to tempt with a reasonable offer if you wish.
  17. This may have been done before but I'll ask anyway . . . . are these the same beach music Shandels (one L I think, not got that box here to check at moment) as Ellen and The Shandels, also seen it referred to as Ellen and the Shondells but am not aware if that relates to a different label print? Just curious?
  18. The affair began back in 73/74. I was young and Northern Soul was so mature mysterious and sexy. My affair with Bowie hadn't amounted to anything, looking back I was immature but he was aloof. NS and I flirted with each other whilst at school, we had a room as a music club and she beckoned me on in that way she does. I think it was 75 when we took our relationship to the next level and spent the night together at Nottingham Palais. Boy, did she lead me on, she had me buying records from that night. I knew there were others, and I've been unfaithful over the years, indeed Bowie and I still keep in touch. But she had me from that night in Nottingham, the bitch!
  19. Wigan was a piece of cake Mak. X67 bus Mansfield to Machester Chorlton St, train form Victoria to Wall Gate, with afew hours to kill in Machester. Although first time I went I got a lift from Brian Rae, sat looking through the records in the back of his van, with the uncomfotable knowledge I only had enough money to get into the nighter and nothing to get back with, that was a long day coming home baby!
  20. Got hit again last week with a silly customs charge, although I have had success in challenging these on a case-by-case basis but it's time consuming. Agree with above regarding thinking twice when buying $9-$25 records, just not worth it. Although that could do me a favour I've got too many small-ticket records. This was a first though, went into account this mornign to pay for last night "wins" to see one seller had added customs charges to invoice. Postage: US $17.95 (approx. £11.76) International Priority Shippingto United Kingdom This amount includes seller specified US postage charges as well as applicable international P&P, dispatch, and other fees. This amount is subject to change until you make payment. Import charges: US $15.87 (estimated and based on current bid) To be provided at checkout This amount includes applicable customs duties, taxes, brokerage and other fees. This amount is subject to change until you make payment. For additional information, see the Global Postage Programme terms and conditions
  21. Never heard but can't help imagine this as a great ender Jimmy Radcliffe - That Lucky Old Sun . . . . imagine coming out into the light after a nighter. This aint so bad either, Crossroads - I'm Coming Home To You Baby
  22. Not sure it fills the criteria but may meet the spirit of the thread. Not current but when we were running the Attic a couple of yeras ago we each had our own "underplayed" favourites that went down well at The Attic, but as we were so under-the-radar they were never going to become dance floor favourites. One of mine was Lavell Hardy, What Kind of Woman (Rojac), harder to find than people think in my opinion. I'd have to look back at playlists to pick another 3 to make the 4 for you, but from memory I did stick with Barry White - All In The Run of The Day for a while too. I could give you 4 I'm playing at home - but I don't think that's a venue??
