  1. Bit like buses these events - nothing for ages then a few all at once. Have spent last few years becoming more and more disheartened with what was on offer musically - So many good tunes out there but nobody playing them. Went to first night at Soulful Shack in Culcheth this month and WOW what a night that was - absoloutely brilliant and now it appears there's another one at Burscough. Will definitely be attending on your next night in March - judging by support you're receiving could be a busy night!

Don't recall accusing anyone of being 'dodgy' Matt. As a result of this thread I am now aware that there are at least two other people in the same position as myself having bought from the same seller at the same time and probably from the same list. I am also aware that this is not the first time buyers have had to wait longer than they would have reasonably expected before receiving their records. As such I am hopeful that the records will arrive eventually. The point of the thread was to ask whether others considered this acceptable.

    Unfortunately not.

Had a couple of PM's - Looks like we've bought off the same seller.

Bought a couple of records on here 3 weeks ago from a UK member. Instant payment on paypal. Recieved an email from seller 2 weeks ago saying that he had been busy but that records would be despatched next day. I emailed him a week later to say still not received and asking what position was. Still waiting for a reply/records. The records were not expensive but surely there is an obligation when selling to provide a service that goes beyond advertising the records and pocketing the cash. It may be that there is a reasonable explanation but as things stand I won't be purchasing from this individual again.

High waister cords with triple zip adjusters made to measure at Hepworths or Burtons, Solatio shoes with steel heel plates, ankle length leather coat with fingerless 'steptoe' gloves and Dr Who length scarf in winter or leather bomber in summer. Genuine American bowling shirt or those cartoon T shirts that were popular for a while - can't remember what they were called. Then the Ritz influence - Falmers jeans with Wrigleys belt, cap sleeved T shirt with spotted neckerchief!!! Foster Grant graduated shades for use indoors and a referees whistle. Plastic jelly sandles or Dunlop green flash. Don't wear nothing but jeans and T shirt these days.

  10. Remember Will Young on Chris Moyles show one morning talking excitedly about some tracks on Northern CD's - Big City series I think - and trying to get Moylesy to play some - Unfortunately Moylesy was having none of it!

Was very lucky - managed to get the Herald version for less than I paid for the Raines but get the feeling that the one on Raines might be rarer?

Sugar Boy Williams - Little girl take your time - RAINES Bought this earlier in the year. Same words as Little Girl (Herald 555) but different backing with a much earlier sound than the Herald recording, but was in fact released later in 1965. Both Labels are New York. Spoken to a few people whose knowledge I respect on this but to date can't find anybody who's heard of it. Anyone else out there know anything about this record?
  14. Couldn't agree more - atmosphere very different these days - becoming like middle aged disco full of middle aged p*ssheads many of whom seem to be relative newcomers to the scene.

    PM'd you Steve
  16. Have a copy of Barbara Dane - Goodby Daddy Goodby on Capitol 33 Compact. Opposite seems to apply on this in that volume is markedly lower than majority of 45's I own.
