  1. Updated appearance is an improvement. Just had a quick play - looks like you can only access those artists/titles that are for sale. Think there was mention of this before, and talk of maybe a fee to access full database. Perhaps John can advise how this will work?
  2. R Dean Taylor - There's a ghost in my house Used to get hammered at Wigan and elsewhere but it's one of those records I never 'got' ....doesn't sound even remotely soulful to me. Await incoming......
  3. Based on youthful memories of a hot summer.......... Junior Walker - (I'm a) Road Runner
  4. Killer trumpet towards the end
  5. Definitely 60's - Surprising how little they actually did on Tamla and every one a double sider. Tamla 54128 - This Old Heart Of Mine (Is Weak For You) / There's No Love Left (1966) Tamla 54133 - Take Some Time Out For Love / Who Could Ever Doubt My Love (1966) Tamla 54135 - I Guess I'll Always Love You / I Hear A Symphony (1966) Tamla 54146 - Got To Have You Back / Just Ain't Enough Love (1967) Tamla 54154 - One Too Many Heartaches / That's The Way Love Is (1967) Tamla 54164 - Take Me In Your Arms (Rock Me A Little While) / Why When Love Is Gone (1968) Tamla 54175 - Behind A Painted Smile / All Because I Love You (1968)
  6. Garnet Mimms - Cry Baby/ Warm & Soulful
  7. £77.90
  8. I have a spare 1st and 2nd anniversary Casino Badge. Haven't really thought about it, but might be willing to let them go if anyone was interested. Not sure of value though?
  9. Good luck to the guy if it earns him a few quid- however after deducting 300 images from the 126 pages it doesn't seem like we're gonna be left with much
  10. I thought that Ted, but in practice it allows you to hold the box closer to your body and stops it banging against your legs. Great boxes IMO.
  11. Last truly great all dayer I attended would have been Whitchurch or the Ritz circa '74 - '75. Don't think I've been to any since. Went to a Soul Night at Whitchurch about ten years ago and couldn't believe that it was the same venue. I seem to recall it being massive when the dayers were on but it was in fact much smaller than I remembered. Happy days
  12. Fred Hughes - Baby Boy Not the most technically accomplished bassline you'll ever hear, but wouldn't be much of a tune without it.
  13. Would have to plead guilty to this - some records do sound better after a bit of tinkering about. Been caught out by it as well though......never forget buying records such as La Lupe - Fever, and Faye Adams - Hammer, and hearing them played them at normal speed
  14. I think a lot of what you've said is probably correct..........unfortunately
  15. Did anybody really jump off the balcony to dance to Sandi Sheldon?
  16. 'Booted out' so to speak...........
  17. Thank you - full circle achieved
  18. Sorry... Do enjoy a cream bun...has to be proper cream though, not that synthetic stuff.
  19. And not much of it has been booted so OVO generally not an issue.
  20. Apart from being great music to dance to I think it's because there are so many records out there yet to be 'discovered' which makes it far more interesting. Being less mainstream than Northern adds to the appeal. IMHO of course.
  21. Ha - what great taste you have.. this is the one I would have chosen had you not beaten me to it. A great and timeless record that still sounds fresh.... listening to it always makes me smile
  22. IMO playing of non-ovo is symptomatic of the general "dumbing down" that is so prevalent today, but as has been said by others, each to their own.
  23. Good idea... trying to explain this to Old Bill though.. hmmm
  24. Think the first two lines would have been sufficient
  25. Worked for you at the Hideaway Steve Take care mate.
