  1. Room full of Ian Levine's??? Was all going swimmingly until that remark. .Wigan had a buzz about it,but so did the Mecca.Different, but the same.Did both venues enough to have an opinion. All the best "tommy hunt".

  3. Repeat post - almost.!!! Don't you just hate repeat posts.
  4. That's ok Kev.I really haven't heard of "the disneys" before.Feel free to knock away buddy.
  5. Oh,oldies dj's.!! Its still avoidable.
  6. C'mon Geese...spit it out.
  7. Maybe that could be seen as respect to another dj who is on before you/them.Certainly a forward thinking dj ,on the night, would avoid repeats if he paid more attention as to else was djing. One way is to have an an idea on who plays what.
  8. Ex condition or above please. Pm's please. Thanks.
  9. Just a babe in arms.!! 1974 Wigan,my first all nighter.Dipped my toe in on and off,Mecca,Clee, alldayers etc,, then... Broke from the scene, for about 10 years, returned in 1990.(Hang the returnee!!).Dipping the rest of my toes in ever since - on and off.
  10. Out of interest, what were the said tunes?
  11. Steve, this track turned me onto Erykah Badu a few years back. You can't beat a bit of beat boxing and Erykah...
  12. RIP Mickey, didn't know you that well at all,but had a laugh when we did get talking.
  13. What's a "touch of the Disney's" Kev.? This was getting spins a while back, pitched down by some,a bugger to dance to when you get to a certain age. .About 1.40 isnt it.?
  14. Steve Mancha for me. Love the Mad Lads version though.Off topic slightly but does anyone like "Patch my heart".
  15. You're yolking.!!
  16. Or "We play Dean Barlow".
  17. Sorry if this comes across fussy Geese. My post was aimed at finding a solution to flyering other events, and possibly avoiding any friction. If you don't see flyering events that clash as a problem, then i'm wasting my time.Plenty of folks go to flyer successful venues, hoping to nick a few punters, without an intention of returning. As for underground, that bus has left the depot.Unless you're advocating the non-use of the internet. And going back to word of mouth. And flyers.
  18. Pleas don't tell me you got Curtis Liggins for 99p? ,or Jimmie Ellis?
  19. Or Curtis.? Or both.
  20. This me after a couple of hours on ebay.
  21. Ask the promoter before flyering. If your venue clashes, dont flyer that venue. If you and the promoter, have "history",don't send anyone else to do it for you. If you dont know the promoter,go as a punter and have a look if the people there would enjoy your night.Take time to see what records they are reacting to.If its a no,back out of the door gracefully, doffing your cap.Do not diss said venue.Do not pass Go,do not collect £200. Flyer like minded venues.
  22. Oh No...Jim,not that again...
  23. When you click on the main forums, you get a list down the left hand side.At a glance you can see, posts, views, dates, guest dj's in some instances almost immediately. With the new box tabs, sometimes there's 2 or 3 boxes for the same event, when folks have posted up in quick succession. So,getting to the last post is confusing. As for people not posting, maybe there's a migration to FB. Although i dont go on FB,from what i here there's a shift to it for advertising events. Can promoter confirm / deny, that FB is more useful than SS?. After all SS is a specialist site, but if there's more reaction to events on FB,maybe that's why not many seem bothered about commenting on the layout here. Mike, this is not a criticism of SS generally. .
  24. I put a search in for Midlands events this morning - i'm still wading through them now.!!!
