Again, you could play legal re-issues out. But maybe careful where. If there's a real one in the house, be prepared for it to be launched across the dancefloor. Wouldn't be the first time.!

If you're going to dj, your integrity level is up to you. Don't pretend you're an OVO dj if you're not, you'll be found out by people who care. If you play boots, then stick your hand up if it doesn't bother you. DJ at venues that don't care. If I get a whiff there's boots being played at a supposedly OVO venue I've gone to, I won't go again, plenty of venues to choose from, that's my choice.

Used to play YAKOS, about 10 years back, either early doors or later last hour. Always thought Somebody was hard to dance to, even though its a great tune. Sold my orange/ white copy last year.

Always a tough one Steve. As a paying public, you may have heard a tune and always associate it with so and so. So many venues in the mists of time, claiming tunes. I'm with you on this though, I think some are hoping that memories are fading.........

If you get to know the venue, and type of folks who frequent it, the other dj's who have guested, the promoters, maybe you can plan your first 3. Following someone on is always tricky. Just got to do one of 2 things in the end. 1/ go with the flow, or 2/ do your own thing and make an impact. Whoooosh!!
