  1. Ruby - Kenny Rogers. doo dodoo, doo dodoo, doo dodoo, doo dodoo dooo. "you painted up your lips and rolled and curled your tinted hair................ruby are you contemplating going out somewhere?" (yeah,,,to a nite with A list dj's on ,playing OVO to a full dancefloor of chinstrokers )

Herbert Hunter...best start to a tune...da da daaaaa, da dah,da da daaaa,da da(then the drum roll with fingers of course). "Don't you believe it baby, when they say the they".........go on ,have a go.

  4. there's no "v's" 'tween us lot Rob .Regarding Lottery win....AIN'T GOT A CLUE! WOOF WOOF!!!! .
  5. spose if they had money left 'em,or sold a business for big money they'd soon become "A" list. Long live the underdog.
  6. SORRY Wilxy, but the question wasn't wether you like Portugal or not. IMHO,the slowed down pace of life, climate, food, people and history is why i love Portugal.Always seem to be there when either World Cup is on or Euro. Surely its got to be better than Mansfield or Newport? Your'e right about golf tho',bloody frustrating. .
  7. Hi,i'm off on holiday soon based in the Algarve.Just a thought while i'm there.....is it worth a trip up to Lisbon and check out any vinyl strongholds. Are there any? Any of you guys/gals got any stories or info on vinyl hunting in Portugal? Has it already been raided by our Spanish friends or Dave Moore? If its not worth it,don't know what i'll do to while away the time .
  8. If the records not cracked, and gone to some other buyer, its gonna be pretty hard for that person to play it out, what with all the neck craning etc?. Maybe its just going to be buried in a collection for a couple of years. . HOPE YOU GET THIS SORTED!
  9. yes!!!!very good version, thinking the same Trevski.Must spend more time on the bay sooner than on here with the rabble .
  10. found out the Ken Williams "Get to know ya",is taken from master tapes originally owned by the Festival records boss.Done as a demo for Bobby Treetop. Later released as a batch of 200 in '79 on the Spectator label,by the then owner of the master tapes, who shall remain nameless . Sorry Boba, nothing to do with Okeh .
  11. CAN YOU PLEASE NOT MENTION "DID I SCARE YOU" AGAIN ,EVERYONE WILL BE CHASING THAT NEXT,AND THE PRICE WILL GO...............
  12. Hey Baz,,how about flippin "Lost Love"?,for the incredible "PEEPIN THRU THE WINDOW"
  13. Craig Moerer hasn't had one for a while, unless i'm very much mistaken. Not on set list anyway. If anyone's got a M-copy for sale for 10-20 i'd like to see it.The ones i've seen all have ring wear and are VG+ at best.Even my dj copy is only VG+. Always ready to be proven wrong, that's me
  14. always had a knack of delivering good wood, still have.
  15. can you get your tongue any further in your cheek Barry?. If you stopped posting on here we'd be saying "There he goes, taking all that knowlegde with him" . Don't want to worry what folks think?,,,,,then don't post.Kev.
  16. Have a look at post *61,said just about the same thing . Liketo take up the point made around "soul nights and suiting personal circumstances". Not everyone can get to niters anymore. Family commitments, health issues, work are far more important to people than when we were 16-18,and chucking in a MONDAY morning at work was the norm cos we'd "overdone" it and didn't "land" til Sunday afternoon. Those who don't have these commitments and can do as you please, think yourself lucky. Soul nites are some peeps only chance to get out, without hassle.IMHO.
  17. seen one for sale today either e-bay or on here.
  18. few comments to make on this post Sunnysoul. Not sure if the central issue is bringing younger people on the scene.Do you mean get rid of the moaning types, who care enough ,and have been around a long time on the scene("let them gracefully slip away"). Replace them with fresh meat.? A nice blank canvas to work on? The "Big Picture" paragraph sounds very corporate to me,like a business waiting to be launched on a public who didn't even realise they needed SOUL MUSIC in their lives. The "masses might naturally gravitate to something big and exciting" ,but who would want the masses to do that.I certainly wouldn't. Keep it a little underground? Agree about Wigan tho',was like a tsunami,,,but ended up musically (imho) like a millpond. Taking the scene onward and upward.Leaving people behind?.Sounds like you're cutting out the dead wood. Remember this scene is a social one for many, passionate, but not run as a business venture. KEV,,(part time punter, wanna be dj,knows f*ck all,returnee,35 years on the scene, likes funk, thinks the Mecca was better than Wigan, acknowledges Levines contribution to the scene...........and doesn't think the scene is on its arse). ps..just read another of you posts re;Kings go Forth, you don't like the track, but talk of "open minded people" and "taking the scene to a whole new level" to "younger people"?
  19. saw one for sale recently on Sales. Both sides good, but think i prefer "Blowing" side. 30-40?
  20. my missus buys 'em for me.(she don't know it til the end of the month tho' ). Cut out the middle man and only buy off people you already hate . I give records away,or so i've been told.
