  6. Webby, you don't remember the porn thread do you.? Welease Spiwit!!!!!
  7. This all sound like someone who runs venues for profit. Reminds me of my Dragon's Den thread.......
  8. It couldn't have been a pub back room, cos Spirit said he'd been refused a refund on a cancelled event by the same promoter.I for one don't think its ok to be ejected from even a pub venue in this manner. Unless you've got previous with the promoter.
  9. ,if you're not going to say names, where was the venue?
  10. Hi Paul, its titled "i want to hold your hand" mate..on my last played clip for yer.
  11. make it stop.

  13. As in Jack n Vera Duckegg?.Don't think Jack was in the trenches, may have be a lefty tho.Could have been on the same bill as The Exploited in Milton Keynes in 81. What was the question again...Barry..?....BARRY!!!!!
  14. Its either that or some Freudian element. When we see the DJ putting on records,we see a father figure, doing as he pleases, regardless.Maybe our own father did just this....food cooked for him, clothes ironed,etc.. Thru this maybe you have a problem with authority. Or it could be all bollox.
  15. Shyness is not recommended on this one.
  16. Replace dj's with jukeboxes????.What and give someone another moan??."Don't go there, they've got a jukebox full of boots". £4 an hour from the jukebox?.Most punters would sit all night waiting for someone else to make the selections. .Just like they sit all night with one coke. Most dj's never went to dj school anyway. Just record monkey's with a mike. . Careful, the DJ Union will have them picketting the venue's............. "What do we want? - OVO.When do we want it? NOW!!".
  17. Exactly.Get this thread back on topic pronto -- or there's "Gonna be a Borstal Breakout!!".
  18. This has really gone off at a tangent!!!.Got a question,,but first,,,,, Punk scene - full of chancers who'd rip you and anyone else off sooner than look at you.A right mix of the malcontent,ex-offenders,school outcasts.People who'd protest about anything at the drop of a hat. How do i know?....spent time in squats in Islington, saw lots of bands, went round the country.Lived in a Biker's club house..etc.... Not all were intellectuals by any means. . So,we've all got a story. But back to my question. What the f*ck has all this got to do with "The Scene"? . One more thing.Paul S and Chorleysoul - did you do the festival stuff as well,? ie: Stonehenge?
  19. They've been around for about a year.
  20. And of course on the punk "scene" there was a lot of ska ,reggae, dub being played. In fact the music went hand in hand at a lot of concerts.Like you Paul and Ady,did the same thing.Thumbed it round the country to watch bands. Would someone like to start a Punk Thread?.Memories of the time.?
  21. damn Barry...he's got me again
  22. Possibly Gareth, but this is just Paul's opinion.
  23. Sorry Paul, don't understand your post .Passionate, but don't entirely agree. "Local nights were they can have a drink and play a few tunes with their mates" - i take it you don't like Local Nights. But Small Honest Nights etc.. are ok.One man's Small Honest is anothers Local. There is a scene, but its split. We are not one big happy family. But who wants it to be?.Let it dis-intergrate. Travellers, well i think there's enough to go round. Not every week, but enough in general.Unity in the scene?.When's that ever happened.? Central Venues - Paul this is a social scene, hard to put boundaries and rules around don't ya think?.I for one wouldn't want a shake up to find only 3 choices countrywide for my own good.
  24. My fave version, not sure if its easy to pick up nowadays?
